Thipkyanchi Rangoli – Episode 194 – Written Update and Episode Review

Had you truly been a witch and could peek into my heart,
You would see that it adores you as if you are a surreal piece of art.

I know, I have said a lot of things to you in the past that I can’t help but deeply regret,
Seeing you for who you really are makes me apologize to you for making you upset.

W H A T   H A P P E N E D   I N   T H E   E P I S O D E ?

The episode begins with Apurva telling Babi Aatya that she is going to accompany her to meet Bhaskar but Babi Aatya sternly refuses. Apurva says that she would go and tell everyone about this secret meeting if she is not allowed to come to which Babi Aatya responds by saying that she is supposed to do nothing of that sort. Babi Aatya adds that if anyone from the home came to know about it, they will run behind her to get married to Bhaskar and she does not want that.

Despite Apurva’s persistent insistence, Babi Aatya refuses to allow anyone to come with her. Apurva has no choice but to accept it when Babi Aatya threatens to discard her plan to meet Bhaskar. Apurva comes up with a plan that she will tell everyone that she and Babi Aatya are going outside for shopping, she would go to her father’s house and Babi Aatya can go to meet Bhaskar alone. 

Babi Aatya requests Apurva not to mess anything up. Apurva assures her to create no chaos. Asking Babi Aatya to quickly get ready, Apurva returns to her room.

The scene shifts to Apurva and Shashank where the former creates a pile of clothes on the bed as she struggles to decide what to wear. Shashank who ignores the whole thing at the beginning finally calls her out when she throws a bunch of clothes on the bed.

Shashank – Hold… hold on. What’s going on here?

Apurva nervously smiles – erm… I have to go out, no? But I can’t seem to decide what to wear. Today is a special day, no?

Shashank – What’s so special about today?

A dramatic Apurva enters the scene as she expresses her heightened excitement and joy – Today is the day of love, Khadoos! Two separated lovers are going to unite today, Khadoos.

Shashank grows annoyed at her tone and language – what do you say! How do you say it!  Do whatever the heck that you want to do but don’t create this mess here, okay?

Apurva – Khadoos, how come you are always in the mood to fight with me?

Shashank – Me?

Apurva – But, I am not in the mood to fight today. I am in a very good mood today. Khadoos, even I want to fall in love by looking at Babi Aatya.

Shashank instantly follows Apurva who moves toward the cupboard – Apurva… would you like to fall in love?

Apurva – Yeah! Don’t you feel like wanting to fall in love with someone?

Shashank – I don’t know but I like the way you talk, behave, and cheerfully roam around.

Apurva – Even I like when you talk nicely to me. But only when you talk nicely to me. I get mad when you fight with me.

Shashank turns Apurva to himself when she goes back to finding her outfit in the cupboard – one, one minute. I will do one thing. I will try not to fight with you, hmm?

Apurva – Good.

Apurva picks up a dress and walks toward the bed – Khadoos, I think the distance between us needs to decrease.

Shashank follows her, upon hearing her words – what do you mean?

Apurva – See… we keep fighting with each other. We keep getting irritated with each other. That is why we are emotionally distant so no matter how close we physically are… emotionally… we will always stay distant.

Shashank grows visibly amused at her choice of words and asks her who has she gotten that knowledge from. He nods, saying that he knew it when she replies that she has got it from Babi Aatya.

Shashank follows her for yet another time when she moves toward the cupboard and locks her between his arms – even if the words are of Babi Aatya, I feel that you have said all of it from your heart. 

While Apurva stands visibly confused, Shashank internally confesses the genuine desires of his heart – All that I want to do is hold you closer and end every distance between us after listening to you.

Shashank’s train of thoughts sees an abrupt halt when Apurva excuses herself, asking him where he is lost.

Shashank – Nothing. Was just thinking about what you said and what we can do to decrease the distance between us and I think… we will have to do a lot of things.

Apurva – Like what?

Shashank – Like you will have to learn a bit of cleanliness and I will have to learn smiling.

Apurva – Smiling?

She forces a smile as she holds his hands – Khadoos, the first thing that you should learn is – TO TALK SWEETLY TO ME. She pats his cheek, repeating herself – learn to talk a little sweetly to me, okay? And for that, you will have to have honey daily, hmm?

Shashank follows her again to the cupboard – If you make me eat, then I will have it daily. 

A small smile forms over her lips as she nods – sure, I will give it to you if you are going to eat.

She goes back to find her dress and ends up throwing a bunch of them on his shoulders in the process which makes him peek in the cupboard and he stands in disbelief at the mess of clothes that she has made in the cupboard.

Shashank – What the heck? What kind of way is this to organize clothes? Look how neatly I have folded my clothes? Come on, take these out and start folding them now.

Apurva – No, no. I won’t. This is the best way for me to keep them. Makes it easier for me to find what I need.  See, I got this. Gotta go now. Bye.

Shashank – No bye. Organize this right now.

Shashank tries to pull out her clothes from the cupboard while she pushes them back in. The Kukki gang enters and finds Apurva and Shashank together and immediately turns around, apologizing for coming there at the wrong time.

Realizing their misunderstanding by looking at their position, Shashank and Apurva quickly move away from each other.

Apurva reveals to the Kukki gang that Babi Aatya is not ready to take anyone with her and she could only convince Babi Aatya for her and that too with the promise of staying outside.

Sumi – I think she wants to meet him alone. We shouldn’t be interfering.

Nikhil – And what if something goes wrong between them while talking?

Kukki – And as Babi Aatya’s dearest younger brother, I have to be there.

Apurva – We all are going there.

The Kukki Gang – How?

Apurva – I have an idea.

She discusses the plan with the Kukki gang and confirms if Shashank is going to come with them or not.

Shashank – Is this even something to ask?

The Kukki gang gets overjoyed.

Shashank – I have work.

The Kukki gang sighs and says that they have to go as Babi Aatya must be waiting.

Apurva – Waiting? She has already left? Dammit! I got late because of you, Khadoos.

She throws the dress in her hand onto him and rushes out. Shashank who yells behind her, asking her to clean the mess first gets a response that she isn’t doing anything.

Shashank – Who is going to clean this up?

Apurva – YOU!

The scene shifts to the Kanitkars who discuss what can be done to make Babi Aatya feel better. Babi Aatya gets ready and comes there, making them happy upon seeing her after a while as she has been keeping herself in her room ever since the wedding fiasco happened. Suva Aai and Aparna Kaku ask her what she would like to eat but Babi Aatya denies having anything at the moment as she waits for Apurva.

Dada-Kaka asks her if she is going out but she says that she isn’t until Apurva joins the scene and informs everyone that they are going to the mall. Babi Aatya tells her that they should postpone the plan but Apurva doesn’t listen to her. Everyone supports Apurva’s idea to take Babi Aatya out so that she can have a change in the mood and Dada-Kaka asks Babi Aatya to go and have fun with Apurva.

While the duo leaves, Bhaskar waits for Babi Aatya in the decided restaurant. Babi Aatya paces outside the restaurant, contemplating where to go inside or not. Meanwhile, the Kukki gang enters the restaurant in disguise. Kukki goes and chitchats with Bhaskar in his disguise until Babi Aatya appears.

He quickly leaves from there and walks back to the Kukki gang, telling them that Bhaskar did not suspect him at all.

While Apurva chooses secret names for the Kukki gang after telling them that they cannot call each other by their real names here, Bhaskar and Babi Aatya’s conversation begins.

Babi Aatya – Why have you called me here? 

Bhaskar – I need to talk to you. 

Babi Aatya – What’s the point in talking now?

Bhaskar – Vidya, I want to say sorry to you.

Babi Aatya – Okay! Now what? I mean, you will say sorry again. I will forgive you again. Something will happen again and… you will leave me again.

Bhaskar – No. No, Vidya. I am giving you a word that it would never happen again.

Babi Aatya – Bhaskar, you had given me a word after returning from the U S. that you will never leave me again but you.

M Y   T A K E  

माझ्या हृदयाची काय सांगु दशा तुला माझ्या मनाने काय घडतंय,
तुला बघूनशी राणी दिवाना झायलो काळीज धडधडतय!

His heart had almost skipped a beat when he heard her say – Khadoos, the distance between us needs to decrease.  In a matter of a couple of moments, his heart raced at the highest speed that it could touch. 

Did she just confess that she has fallen for him as well – deep enough from where there was no turning back? His heart couldn’t stop grinning as it received the unexpectedly beautiful gift of her confession that he thought she was making. 

Idiot.  You’ll stay an absolute idiot forever. Wait for a few moments and smack yourself for building your castle on your self-made presumptions.  His brain taunted, like always as it couldn’t resist its growing frustration upon seeing his heart walking on that road that his brain believe was going to lead him to only disappointments  

Aye. I am not an idiot. His heart cried. I know that she loves me as much as I love her. It muttered, in a low, shaking voice.

Yeah. I can hear the confidence dripping from your voice. His brain least cared if its sarcastic taunts were making his currently fragile heart weep more. And you… ARE an idiot! 

You suck. Why do you have to be so negative always? I ain’t going to talk to you! His heart sobbed.

I am just logical and practical. Not my problem if that seems negative to you! His brain stood indifferent to his heart’s misery. Sure. Not like I am dying to talk to an idiot like you!

Babi Aatya told me that long as we are emotionally distant, it won’t make a difference how close we physically stand.

Her words brought him back to the earth as he realized what the source of the whole conversation was. Not that it mattered to him at that moment for all that his heart could register and process was that she feels that they should come closer.  

As he followed her to the cupboard and locked her between his arms, there was nothing and absolutely nobody in the world that was capable of making him avert his gaze from her. 

His heart had almost jumped out of his body to give a soft peck to her heart when he had to hastily pull and put it back in its place.

STOP. The brain is not that wrong. You act like an idiot at times. No kisses until you are sure that she loves you as well, okay? Okay? He warned. 

Not even one? His heart whispered.

NO.

Erm… just a forehead one? His heart continued to urge.

Not even that. His warning grew sterner. 

Hmm. What about… just a… just a hand-kiss maybe? 

I said, NO KISSES until we are sure that this is not a one-sided affair. Am I clear? AM I CLEAR? 

Okayyy. Dejected, his heart helplessly nodded. 

Who will clean the mess, Mrs. Kanitkar?

You! Who else, Mr. Kanitkar? 

I love how Thipkyanchi Rangoli’s creatives sincerely and honestly believe in simplicity has the beauty like no other. 

Such a simple scene! Such simple dialogues! With neither any exaggerated drama nor any overrated reactions! Yet the scene that makes it tough for you to hold yourself back from going back to it again and again. 

The kind of adoration that Mr. Kanitkar’s eyes hold for Mrs. Kanitkar these days gives away that he is rolling in euphoria! The euphoria that refuses to subside! 

Mr. Kanitkar’s blunt confession that he will have honey if she makes him eat though. Mr. Kanitkar seems to be missing being fed by Mrs. Kanitkar. Mr. Kanitkar is missing the old golden Kelvan days. I am sure if it was in Mr. Kanitkar’s capability, he would have stolen the books of rituals and added a mandatory ritual of husbands getting fed by their wives every day after the wedding. 

Kanitkars once again proved that I ain’t getting over them. All of these have such deep affection and concern for each other that they kinda make me long for a joint family. The way Suva Aai and Panna Kaku kept thinking about the ways to cheer Babi Aatya up and the way these two were on their toes to cook something when they caught Babi Aatya’s sight is everything.  

Unfiltered, unconditional, and undying love! 

Like Apurva said that today is the day of love, I would say that today was the episode of love! 💜
