Thipkyanchi Rangoli – Episode Review – 199 & 200

Life brings you across some weird folks at times,
Who attempt to trap you in their vicious crimes.
Dealing with them could be extremely taxing,
Wear your armor because the effects of the battle could be long-lasting.

I was upset that Mr. Kanitkar sat with his colleagues, offering them drinks despite having witnessed tears in Mrs. Kanitkar’s eyes. Despite knowing that the song that he had intended to make special for her had instead ended up upsetting her because of his assistant’s forceful participation.

Weren’t you supposed to look for your wife first, Mr. Kanitkar? You could have sat with your colleagues later as well. I am bummed out.

Mrs. Kanitkar watching Mr. Kanitkar with his assistant from afar and getting more upset was a hard-hitting sight. Mrs. Kanitkar’s pain was so visible. So visible.

Appu’s People vs Netra Ma’am!

What a scene! The way Amey and Nikhil went all in to taunt Netra after she dared to hurt their sister’s feelings has my heart. For real. Even the fact that Maai was standing right there couldn’t hold them back from letting Netra see that her Shashank Sir might tolerate her vile acts but Appu’s brothers won’t. Neither would they tolerate it nor would they leave the one who would try to come near their sister with any malicious intentions. This was actually a fantastic scene. Absolute 💜

Appu and Appu’s People!

I have always loved Suva-Aai but this particular scene will be etched on my memory forever. I believe, Suva-Aai did have an idea what had got Apurva bothered. The whole conversation gave away that she did. That’s what formed Suva-Aai’s response when Apurva said that she can’t sing like Netra. Her words of wisdom when Apurva said that Netra has it all – “it’s what you think at the moment” – had me wonder how deep Suva-Aai is in her judgment of Netra. I did feel that she senses a lot more than what she is showing at the moment.

Her subtle reminder, her generous pampering, and her genuine admiration for Apurva’s qualities that make her stand out – wholesome. As much as I like Mr. and Mrs. Kanitkar, my liking toward Kanitkars is equally strong. I thoroughly enjoy their scenes. And I believe, a whole lot of credit also goes to the creatives of Thipkyanchi Rangoli because they make sure to keep most of the scenes significant in some way or the other.

Shashank Premveer Kanitkar.

It was definitely worth watching when Mr. Kanitkar rushed upstairs to look for his wife when Netra Ma’am was taking interest in his dancing skills. Learn how to royally ignore and insult even without doing anything from Mr. Kanitkar! And learn how to master sarcasm and put people in their places from the Kukki Gang. The whole scene that followed where Amey and Kukki went all in to remind Netra for yet another time where she stands in Mr. Kanitkar’s life and where Mrs. Kanitkar does… had me burst out laughing.

Hum to chale aaye sanam tujhko manane,
Chahe tu maane. . Chahe na maane!

My favorite moment in this particular scene was when Shashank senses something off more than just something random having spoiled her mood. I couldn’t resist the contentment that filled me when he asked if someone said something to her and confirmed it again even after she said that nobody did.

Mr. Kanitkar’s subtle confession of how important Mrs. Kanitkar has become to him now was yet another beautiful moment. I don’t think that Apurva could see the depth of those words but I could.

I have to like them because… you like them.

I have to say, Mr. Kanitkar… when you start charming, the delicate softness that your words hold makes you irresistible but the thing is, Mr. Kanitkar that unless you let your words freely flow without playing with them in a way that you know wouldn’t let Mrs. Kanitkar understand them, nothing is happening.

Remember, a couple of minutes ago… you said that you are ready to sing for Mrs. Kanitkar for life – what’s the use of that silent monologue, Mr. Kanitkar?

When it’s the time to speak, you go quiet.

When it’s the time to stay quiet, your tongue goes out of control.

When the duo walks down and Netra pulls Apurva by her hand for the dance, Apurva pulls Shashank along with her. As if that was the most natural thing for her. A moment that did not last for more than a couple of seconds but was sweetly significant enough to make me adore it.

Netra Ma’am and Her Vicious Schemes.

Can we skip to the good part?

Oh sorry, there is no good part here. Sigh. 🙁

So Netra Ma’am makes it seem like her Shashank Sir accidentally got her to fall and her Shashank Sir takes her to his room because it is his responsibility to take care of her till she feels better because she got hurt because of him..

Your wife also got hurt because of you, Mr. Kanitkar. You better take care of her burning emotions till she feels better.

Why did I say his room? Because he didn’t bother confirming once that his wife was okay with his decision of letting the woman whom his wife does not gel with stay in their room so… his room.

Shashank can’t tolerate even the mere mention of Krish and he expects Apurva to tolerate Netra’s presence in their room? Would he have let Krish enter their room?

His room.

The Kukki gang got frustrated as usual to see Apurva getting upset because of Netra and her Shashank Sir. And rightfully so. The intelligence of the genius scientist is limited to only his laboratory and experiments. Like the Kukki gang once said – Shashank has studied only science. He just does not understand the emotions involved in real life. An absolute bookworm he is.

Mr. Kanitkar does seem to have read only the books that were related to his academic and professional life. It doesn’t seem that he has read a single book about life. Padhi hoti to ye haal nahi hota! Sigh.

Firstly, she could have rested in Prachi’s room or simply just where she was seated. Her leg was hurt. She did not have a headache that wouldn’t have let her tolerate the noise and the chaos downstairs.

Also, I was kinda more mad at Sumi and Manasi than Shashank when he was taking Netra upstairs. Either of them could have chosen to help her, making Shashank stay back.

I didn’t mind much because Mr. Kanitkar did not linger around and was quick to return to his wife. Though the first name that the dumb brain of Mr. Kanitkar had to take in front of his already upset wife was… Netra.  Sigh.

But thanks to Mrs. Kanitkar, the scene left me in splits and was absolutely hilarious.

Tuza dhakka tilach kasa kaay lagla? Mala kasa nahi lagla? ( How the heck did you accidentally push HER? Why not me? )

Shashank’s reaction was genuinely relatable. What Mrs. Kanitkar was saying was insane and effortlessly hilarious.

Itaranchya premachi kadar aahe. Maza prem tevdha kalat nahi. ( She acknowledges everyone’s love but can’t see mine. )

Kasa kalnar? Kasa kalnar? You gotta stop conveniently forgetting things, Mr. Kanitkar. All along, it was you who chanted – I’ll never fall for someone like you and all and all and all. So how… tell me how do you expect her to see your love?

Ek tar kodyat bolaychi savay lavun thevli ahe. Varun apeksha ashi ki tine te kode sodvat basayche! Are ka? Tila nahi sodavta aale te kode kadhich tar? Rahila prem manach mana javalach?

The 200th episode turned out to be a disappointment for you, I know. Personally, I didn’t have any expectation that the episode should be special so I wasn’t really disappointed, to be honest.

Babi Aatya and Kanitkars getting emotional was a sweet sight.

Mr. Kanitkar holding Mrs. Kanitkar when Babi Aatya was leaving was a sweet sight.

To ensure that nobody would get diabetes, we were quickly served the kadwa karela – Madam Netra!

This woman has been crossing every line with Apurva from the very beginning but she went too far today.

No, she has definitely said everything that she said in this one before as well – but she hadn’t quite flaunted being dumb the way she did in this one.

Inhale. Exhale. Chant Om.

That is meditation, Netra Ma’am? Come on, I thought you were smart. Breathing exercises and Pranayam are not the same as that of meditation. Ek to seekhao mat aur agar seekhana hai to pehle khud to seekh ke aao. Waise seekhna chahiye, Netra Ma’am aapko! Zaroorat hai. Pehle seekha hota to apne selfish motive ke liye khud ko harm nahi karti aap lekin khair… apni apni choice hai!

The whole verbal exchange was ugly. Period. By the way, I can’t keep track of what all that Netra Ma’am is.

She was a professor first who was asking Apurva questions about her subjects.

She became a meditation teacher later and now she has become a judge who just gave the verdict that Apurva does not deserve Shashank and Kanitkars.

Are lekin ye case lekar gaya kaun tha inn judge saahiba ke paas? Anyone?

Sigh. I wonder how Netra Ma’am manages to do so many things all at once. Quite tough it must be, no?

My heart sank for Apurva. She is naive. She is. She wouldn’t have ended up miserable and tried to convince Netra that Shashank does like her had she not been naive but despite the insecurities that her husband had put her through time and again – she did keep her trust in him that Netra would not be even the last person whom he would walk up to for complaining about Apurva. And that is admirable. For a fleeting moment, she did contemplate if there was a one percent chance that Netra could be speaking the truth but she was quick to shrug it off.

While Mrs. Kanitkar was dealing with the headache brought by Mr. Kanitkar, Mr. Kanitkar was busy daydreaming. Shaking my head.

Shashank Kanjoos Kanitkar came up with the not-so-unique idea of a panipuri date after acknowledging that he is incapable of coming up with a unique idea like his Shishta. Another sweet moment.

While he returns and is about to let his Shishta know what her Khadoos has started to feel for her, Netra Ma’am executes her sick plan.

Shashank getting worried for Netra was fine but that glance at Apurva, that expectation that she should show concern for Netra, and judging her sucked.

That –  do I need to pick you up – dialogue needs to die a brutal death. For real. Made me glare at both, Mr. Kanitkar and Dada-Kaka. Drag the damn couch if she can’t reach it but you are banned from picking her up. Period.

Netra Ma’am indirectly accused Appu of deliberately pushing her and Mr. Kanitkar made no visible attempt to stand up for his wife. I expected better from you, Mrs. Kanitkar.

Where Mr. Kanitkar disappointed, Suva-Aai was great. Her subtle taunts are my favorite. She is an absolutely cool woman who does not have to scream or yell to put her point across. That’s an impressive skill that she has.

As predicted by Apurva, Dada-Kaka sympathized with Netra and allowed her to stay with them till she recovered. Humanity. But he does not know that his one act of kindness would brutally suffocate his daughter-in-law.

What I failed to understand was why Prachi or Sumi did not go with Netra and the Kanitkar men to get the X-ray done.

Had Shashank and Apurva been the only people at home and then Shashank would have stuck to Netra to support her, it would have been understandable because Netra would have schemed and made sure that Shashank stayed by her side some way or the other.

But there are a whole bunch of people. Women especially. Why couldn’t any of these stubbornly walk up to them and take control of the situation, insisting to help Netra walk?

Somewhere even dada kaka also believed apurva has pushed netra. That’s why he let netra stay. Maybe this is just to show that Shashank thinks and acts like dada Kaka.
