Was She Okay?

Why? Tumhari Maasi ko chot lagi. Wo hospital me admit thi. Par tumne mujhe kuch bataya nahi!

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Ever since she left his home after he informed her about her Maasi’s message about her Maasa Ji, he had been worried sick; for he hadn’t missed the drastic change in her expressions that had planted an unknown terror in his heart.

Even after she disappeared from his sight, his mind and heart couldn’t get rid of her. He was clueless about what the issue was if there was one in the first place. He didn’t even have the liberty to dial her number and make sure that she was okay. He wasn’t her fiance. Not even a friend. Not even someone she considered close enough to share her worries with. In fact, so didn’t he either but it was ridiculously bothersome that she was the only one who was on his mind for the entire night.

Was she okay? Was she struggling with something? Was there an issue that was troubling her? Did she… need him? – Was all that he could think of!

After a long, persistent battle with himself, he had been able to drop a message to her and even receive a reply from her but somehow, her message could not put his heart at peace.

His heart was still anxious, with his intuition telling him that he needed to see her. He needed to see her with his own eyes and be sure that she was okay to calm his unsettled heart! His concern was at its peak, just enough for him not to be able to resist it.

And he reached her home. Without bothering in what way she would take his presence. Without bothering that she might throw a bunch of questions at him. Without bothering about anything. He was okay with falling victim to her outburst but he wasn’t okay with not checking up on her.

Once the situation sank in, he was upset. He was upset that she didn’t feel that she could call him and let him know about the entire fiasco. Most likely, he knew that his expectations were wrong. He was practically nobody to her. A nobody. Why would she involve him in her personal matters? But he couldn’t resist wanting her to confide in him, to come to him with her every trouble – for he wanted to be the one to take her out of every problem she would land in.
