The episode begins with Shashank not thinking twice before bluntly expressing his annoyance at Apurva’s disappearance in front of Dada-Kaka but Kukki and Manasi take care of the matter, without letting Dada-Kaka have an inkling that Apurva has gone out without informing anyone.
Vitthu Baba inquires if the land-related work got successfully done. Dada-Kaka replies that it will take more time and moves to his room to freshen up. Suva-Aai asks if everything is okay before he leaves to which he nods.
Kukki points out that this was the first time Dada-Kaka said no to tea when offered.
Shashank continues to let his anger find a way through his enraged words and everyone continues to take Apurva’s side which infuriates him even more. When Nikhil says that she might have gone out for some work, Shashank taunts that she is a B.A. failed girl. What work could she possibly have?
Vitthu Baba reprimands him and so does Mansai who advises him not to constantly taunt Apurva on her education since she takes his words to her heart. Sumi urges him to talk nicely about and to Apurva, Aparna Kaku puts an end to the discussion, stating that all of it is not important at the moment. What’s important is – where is Apurva?
Suva-Aai makes a quick reminder that everyone needs to think of a response if Apurva doesn’t return by the time Dada-Kaka freshens up and he inquires about her. Vitthu Baba points back to the guess that not taking help from Dr. Kaushik might have upset Apurva and she might have gone somewhere to calm her upset self.
Shashank’s taunting session continues where he expresses that she is free to go wherever she wants to go but after informing. He goes – how is it right to disturb everyone for her peace of mind?
Suva-Aai loses her calm at Shashank’s growing irritation. She asks him if his irritation is going to bring Apurva back. She tells him to call Dr. Kaushik and end the matter but he refuses, stating that it was Dr. Kaushik’s responsibility to inform them if Apurva has indeed gone there. Sumi reminds everyone that it is a possibility that Apurva could have stopped Dr. Kaushik like she did the last time.
Shashank leaves the home, saying that he is tired of the discussion.
Nikhil suggests that he and Amey should go to Dr. Kaushik’s house and get Apurva back if she is there. That way they wouldn’t have to explain anything to Dada-Kaka either but Suva-Aai refuses.
She asks everyone to stop the discussion then and there, saying that Apurva will be back on her own. She says that Apurva knows her responsibility and has been abiding by the Kanitkar’s lifestyle ever since she got married, adding that there is no need to make a mountain out of a molehill if she went out one day.
The scene shifts to Dada-Kaka and Maai’s room where Maai tells Dada-Kaka that she knows that he hasn’t brought the money from Avinash and he quickly asks if Avinash informed her and she laughs, shaking her head. Maai reminds Dada-Kaka that they have been together for almost forty years now. Dada-Kaka smiles and confesses that it’s only because of the trust that she has in him – he could leave the money with Avinash thereby sharing how Avniash’s financial condition is at the moment.
While Dada-Kaka gets anxious, thinking about what to do regarding their own financial troubles, Maai comforts and assures him that they would find a way.
Dada-Kaka asks if Maai has told anyone about the whole thing. Maai tells him that Aparna overheard them when he had called but assures him that she will not tell anyone.
Babi Aatya enters the room, causing the duo to halt their conversation which makes Babi Aatya suspicious. She senses that they are hiding the financial issue from her and says that she is afraid that her trust in her brother that he’ll never lie to her might see a crack.
Babi Aatya confesses that she knows that the land-related work was an excuse and he had actually gone to bring money from Avinash. Maai interrupts and asks Babi Aatya not to stress over the money thing and let everyone else take care of it.
Babi Aatya continues to remind them that their love will last her a lifetime but she cannot stand the idea of them burdening themselves under the weight of a loan. She takes a promise from Dada-Kaka that he will not take a loan from anyone for her marriage. It makes Maai make Dada-Kaka take a promise from Babi Aatya that they will enjoy and do everything as long as it’s within their budget and she will not oppose it. Babi Aatya agrees.
Seeing Babi Aatya’s fallen face, Dada-Kaka inquires what’s wrong. Babi Aatya confesses of being scared and hesitant about the marriage. She shares what had happened when Deepali had come.
Dada-Kaka supports Babi Aatya’s idea of needing to clarify everything with Bhaskar once. He asks her to have a transparent conversation with Bhaskar, taking care not to hurt him in the process.
The scene shifts to Vitthu Baba and Suva Aai. Their conversation initially revolves around Shashank and Apurva with Suva Aai expressing her concern that she is afraid that once Apurva is back, it will start a new fight between her and Shashank. Vitthu Baba says that for that, Shashank needs to bring some change in him. Suva Aai feels that they cannot always expect only Shashank to change. She says that there is no medicine for one’s nature. The way Apurva cannot leave her casual, carefree nature – the same way Shashank cannot leave his temperament. She says that they need to accept each other the way they are.
Vitthu Baba senses a constant concern on Suva Aai’s face and she tells him that she is not concerned about Shashank and Apurva at the moment. She shares that she saw the traces of worries on Dada-Kaka’s face and she doesn’t quite feel that the problem has been solved. Together, they reach the conclusion that Dada-Kaka probably refused to bring money after seeing Avinash’s struggle to arrange the money. Vitthu Baba says that he needs to talk to Dada-Kaka but Suva-Aai stops him and asks him to not talk right now.
The scene shifts to the Kukki gang who are still into Apurva and her disappearance. Nikhil raises the possibility that Shashank might have said something hurtful to Apurva. Kukki expresses that he doesn’t feel taking money from Dr. Kaushik right either. Nikhil shares his thoughts about how he doesn’t appreciate not being treated like a family. Sumi shrugs it off and diverts the attention back to Apurva.
Kukki calls Dr. Kaushik and asks if Apurva is there. As told by Apurva, Dr. Kaushik denies Apurva being at Vartaks. He adds that Kanitkars shouldn’t be concerned as Apurva has a habit of going out with her friends without informing anyone. Kukki tells Dr. Kaushik that Dada-Kaka has returned, shocking Apurva!

Let me start by saying that I loved the episode. It was high on emotions and relationships. Both are my favorite things. I had to love every bit of it.
The fact that it did not even occur to Shashank that he shouldn’t probably say in front of Dada-Kaka that Apurva is not at home screams the kind of a clean heart that Shashank has. The man hasn’t learned to lie to his family and I appreciate that. The way he was just honest about it in front of Dada-Kaka reminded me that it is how it is. Shashank has got his priorities right.
As much as I personally don’t appreciate lies, I loved the way Manasi Vahini jumped in the conversation, covering up for Apurva.
One of the most significant scenes in the episode for me had to be when Suva Aai asks Dada-Kaka if everything is alright. A subtle, small scene silently screaming how well Kanitkars know each other. The way she just sensed that something is not right despite Dada-Kaka’s calm demeanor left me all smiles.
Shashank needs to mind his words when it comes to Apurva. Though he does speak the truth – more than words, the way you say it makes the difference and Mr. Kanitkar does need to learn to make better word and tone choices when he is talking about his wife but let me say that, I don’t quite feel that he really means anything mean that he says about Apurva. His frustration on not having her around has gotten to his head. काहीही बोलतोय हा माणूस!
The consistent characters and the relationships are always fantastic to watch. The way everyone finds their voice when Shashank says anything against Apurva is wholesome. Manasi Vahini and Sumi schooling Shashank over how to talk to and about his wife got me.
Suva Aai’s reminder to everyone to let Apurva be felt so genuinely comforting. Thank goodness, these in-laws are so endearing and relatable unlike most of the ITV shows. ITV shows are so fiercely capable of dominating your mind so much with their negative portrayal of relationships that it can almost snatch your ability to trust anyone even in real life.
Dada-Kaka and Maai’s scene was so incredibly endearing. His smile when she told him that she knew, he hadn’t brought the money and the way he rested his head on her hands – such a gorgeous scene. The top-notch portrayal of a forty-year-old relationship in which the duo not just knows each other inside out but also speaks without uttering a word and listens to the unsaid.
Dada-Kaka and Babi Aatya’s scene was yet another heartwarming moment for me where despite being the firm, grown-up, mature lady that Babi Aatya is – she just let herself become that little sister who seeks assurance from her elder brother. How sweet was the whole scene!
I can’t say enough about Vitthu Baba and Suva Aai’s bit. I love how balanced Kanitkars are. They call out their kids when they need to. They support their kids when they need to. When Suva Aai said that Apurva and Shashank need to stop trying to change each other and accept each other just the way they are – did sound so right to me.
One of the scenes in this episode that I’ll remember for a long time is that of Nikhil’s. He was so apt in voicing out his despair without probably intending to. Nikhil resonated with me today. The way he expressed that why can’t he and Dr. Vartak be treated as family when they consider them as one? Why hesitate while taking any financial help from them when they do call them their family? Why cannot they contribute? Why? Kanitkars need to ponder over this.
The highlight of the episode for me stays Dada-Kaka and Maai’s scene!
Beautiful episode!
