“Bevakoof ladki!” He could never fathom how she could make him infuriated, overwhelmed and worried sick at the same time. The plethora of emotions that she every time managed to evoke within him never ceased to amaze him.
“Ye hai hi nahi iss duniya ki, Ahaan. Ye hai hi nahi iss duniya ki!” He concluded, shaking his head at his utterly stupid but irresistibly lovable girlfriend who lay in her bed, down with high fever.
Courtesy to stupid Ahaan Veer Malhotra who had been an idiot to think that she was joking when she said that she was intolerant to the air conditioner.
“Bevakoof ladki sat unfazed during the entire four-hour long ride but didn’t utter a word,” he muttered, his unwavering gaze still fixed at her sleeping figure. “Use kya bol raha hai, bevakoof to tu hai! Usne kaha tha A.C mein uski tabyet kharab ho jati jai. Tujhe laga hi kyu ke wo mazak kar rahi thi!” He banged his head against the headrest, mad at his own self as he held himself responsible for her condition.
“But she could have persisted on her point, couldn’t she? But instead… she played along.” His brain jumped in, uninvited to share its opinion despite nobody asking for it.
“Because she chose your comfort over hers, you idiot!” His heart stepped in right away, not tolerating even a single word against her.
“Shut up, both of you!” His silent scream shut the mouth of both, his brain and the heart.
He stroked her hair, before reaching out for the thermometer to check for her temperature.
A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he looked at the thermometer. Her fever was subsiding. He instantly put the thermometer away when he caught her heavy eyelids fluttering.
“Ma-in… thik hoo-n, AVM.” Even in that state, her focus stayed on asking him to not stress and he lost it right at her last word.
His wet eyes moistened her skin as his forehead gently fell on hers. “Kyun karti ho aise? Mat kiya karo na.”
“Mai…ne k-ya… ki-ya?”
“Khud mein aur mujh mein… mujhe kyun chunti ho? Khud ko chuna karo na…”
She smiled, weakly raising her hand to his cheek. “Har baar aapko chunkar hi to khud ko chunti hoon, AVM. Aap nahi samjhenge!”

This is a random piece of fiction. Absolute imagination. Kind of a random mini tale based on the picture on the characters named Ishqi and Aahan from the show Ishk Par Zor Nahi.Â
