Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she crawled out of the bed and walked to the couch where he was. “Aap aadhi raat ko kya kar rahe hai?”
“Presentation! Kal investors ke saath meeting hai. Aman ne message kiya tha lekin maine ab dekha!” He sighed, glancing at the clock striking 1 a.m.
“Ye andhere mein kyun bechari aankhon ki batti gul kar rakhi hai?” She smacked his head before switching on the lights.
“Tum uth jaati,” he murmured, “mujhe tumhari neend nahi kharab karni thi.”
“Wo to waisi bhi honi hi thi,” she muttered under her breath. Did he not know that not having him beside her would wake her up anyway? “Waise kisi aur room mein bhi jaa sakte the.”
“Jaa to sakta tha par jaana nahi chaahta tha.”
“Kyun?”
“Tum parso chali jaaogi tumhari conference ke liye aur main… tumhe bohot miss karunga. At least ye 2 din to main tumhare saath bita loon?”
She hummed, wrapping a shawl around him that she brought from the cupboard. “Itni thand hai, aapko khayaal rakhna nahi aata?”
“Aata tha par maine bhula diya. Khayaal rakhne wali jabse mil gayi tabse… bhula diya.”
“Raat ke 1 baje bhi romance nikalta hai aapka?”
“Aapko dekhkar dil behekta hai humara!”
He laughed, watching her shaking her head. “Chalo ab so jaao. Mujhe time lagega.”
She sat beside him on the couch and pulled her legs up. Before he could figure out what she was up to, she adjusted her head on the pillow in his lap and pulled the comforter over herself.
He leaned down to press his lips on her forehead. “Mujhe aap batayengi ke ye… kya chal raha hai?”
“I am sleeping!”
“Aur mera presentation?”
“Aap banayiye. Main kaha aapko disturb kar rahi hoon. Main to chupchap so rahi hoon.”
He chuckled at her oh-so-innocent tone.
“Sab ko jo chaahiye wo mil raha hai to mujhe bhi to milna chaahiye,” she said, patting his cheek, “aap ko deal chahiye. Deal ko investors chahiye. Investors ko presentation chahiye aur mujhe… aap chahiye!”
