“Here, take this.” She handed the letter in her hand to him after ensuring that it was the right piece of paper. “Padh lijiye.”
“What is this?” His gaze roamed over the words in the letter and he almost burst out laughing. “Jab tak… life hai… tab tak.. aapke gale pade… rehne ka contract…” He managed to read the title aloud in between his laughter.
“Aap has kya rahe hai? Kaafi serious cheez hai ye, AVM!”
“Oo ye serious hai?”
“Bilkul!”
Shaking his head, he folded the letter and pushed it inside his pocket before enveloping her in his arms. “Meri Khiski Ishqi!” he murmured, lightly hitting her forehead with his. “Tum kuch bhi kar sakti ho na mera mood thik karne ke liye?”
“Koi shaq?”
“No, Ma’am!” He bowed in front of her before lingering his lips on her hair, accepting for yet another time that Ishqi was truly one of a kind.
He hadn’t expected her to come up with that letter after his ex-girlfriend barged in his life and tried to instigating his fiancee, twisting and manipulating facts against him.
“Rhea ne sab jhooth nahi kaha, Ishqi. Unn mein se kuch baatein sach thi.”
“Hmm.”
“Tumhe farq nahi padta?”
“Rhea ko aapka kal pata hai, AVM aur mujhe aapka aaj. Koi perfect nahi hota. Hum sab seekhte rehte hai. Hum sab badalte hai. For better. Mujhe logo ke beete hue kal se zada unke aaj mein dilchaspi hai.” Taking his hand in her hold, she looked at him. “Kisi ke aake kuch bhi kehne se… kuch nahi badalne wala, AVM. Main kabhi aapko chhhod kar nahi jaanewali.”
“Soch lo. Kabhi mujhe koi galti ho gayi to?”
She smiled at his attempt to warn her. “To main uss galti ko apne pyaar ke eraser se mita dungi. Aur agar kabhi mujhse koi galti hui to?”
“Tumhari saari galtiya humari zindagi ki kitaab mein invisible ink mein hogi jo sirf main dekh paaunga… unhe thik kar paaunga aur tumhe bata paaunga… ke tumhari har galti bhi meri hai aur uski saza bhi.”
