And his heart sank once Rhea spoke the words that he was still trying his hardest to swallow! Her eyes swiftly shifted from Rhea to him, but he didn’t dare to look up but rather grew more uncomfortable once the news reached her.

Despite his indirect attempts to restrict Rhea from revealing it, he could do nothing to protect her heart from that blow.

She congratulated him, not even needing to blink once and he – he couldn’t even dare to meet her gaze for she was honest not to hide her feelings and he – he still struggled to bring himself to the acceptance and so, he couldn’t let her catch those unsaid emotions in his eyes.

Absconding was the best choice to make to escape her eyes that seemed to have caught most of what he was still foolishly trying to conceal.

Once he dragged his feet away from her, he allowed them to stop only when he was inside his room. Locking the door, he placed his palm on his rapidly beating heart.

Calm down, you idiot! Cursing his heart was the only thing he could do!

Perhaps, nobody from his family and even Ishqi knew what turmoil he had been dealing with ever since she had confessed her feelings for him!

Earlier, he was only suppressing his feelings. He could have dealt with that but acting indifferent to her despite knowing it wasn’t a one-sided affair and that she held feelings for him as well was a different game altogether!

She was his best friend’s fiancée.
He was cheating Mayank by romantically holding her in his thoughts.
He was cheating Ishqi by pretending that he felt nothing for her.
He was cheating Rhea.

But, most of all, he was cheating himself!

He loved Ishqi and he knew, she loved him. And he was making her choose a lifetime of suffering!
