Right after his ears were blessed with her poignant message through her poem, his heart was calm and restless at the same time. Calm because of her unfiltered woe of losing him once her wedding happened and restless because of the sick fact that despite longing for her companionship for his entire life, he couldn’t let her heart see it.

Their hearts, so in unison, found each other when they stepped out to be alone for a while. Unknown to them but known to the deepest corners of their hearts – they had found their solace.

Despite having come in search of some alone time, he held her back when she was about to leave. And she obliged. Wordlessly. And they sat, savoring the moments they had got together for tomorrow was about to take her away from him. Forever and despite his heart dying to embrace her forever, securely holding her to him, he could do nothing but watch the love of his life marry his best friend.

Once the silence broke and talks of hearts began, the vibe was honest like never before. His confession about knowing that they were her words and not Sonu’s and her confession about him looking after and protecting her when she wasn’t in her senses left them overwhelmed. 

In that moment, had he asked who she trusted more – him or her fiance – she probably wouldn’t have taken a moment to take his name. Without giving a damn to if it was ideal on her part or not. She had been fighting her battles alone all long. Neither she had an option of waiting for a man to help her nor she was too fond of the idea of depending upon someone for she knew, dependence always brought along expectations and disappointments. 

But with his arrival in her life, she was losing herself to the idea of his protection. For the first time in life, she wished to be dependent on someone and that was him for his gestures, time and again, had convinced every bit of her that no matter what happened – this man will keep her heart safe even if it demanded him to crush his own self.
