“We never had anything to begin with, AVM. We never did. And if at all… if at all we did, we were never meant to have it. You and I… we… can’t have anything. Neither this… this friendship nor anything more than friendship.”
He stood still, letting her words sink in.
She tore her gaze from him right after she spoke what she needed to. Pulling her hand down, she waited for a moment to see if he had anything to say but silence was all that he had chosen.
“It’s all my fault, AVM and I am sorry for it. I am sorry for meeting you. I am sorry for befriending you. I am sorry for coming so close that- uhm I am sorry is all that I have to say!”
That could not earn any reaction from him either. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she slowly pulled herself a step backward.
She needed to leave from there before she could lose herself to his eyes that had not looked away from her since the moment she had arrived.
She needed to leave before she could lose the grip that she had got over herself to say everything that she had just said.
Walking away from someone had never felt as tough as walking away from him did.
She couldn’t stop wondering how more cruel fate was going to be to her! Why did it have to bring her across him when she was not meant to be his and he, hers?
“I am not going to stop you. Let me see how far you can go.”
She heard him when she turned around to leave. She blinked off the thin layer of tears gathering in her eyes.
‘I wish you had held me back. Not that it could have stopped me from going away but at least, I would have been assured that I… that I… mattered to you.’ Her silent confession stayed within herself. It would never find her voice just the way what she felt for him would never find her voice.
‘I
Wish
You
Had
Held
Me
Back.’
This is a random piece of fiction. Absolute imagination. Kind of a random mini tale based on the picture on the characters named Ishqi and Aahan from the show Ishk Par Zor Nahi.
Amazing
