“Le! Ab kaunsa careless attitude dikhaya maine?”
“Mera muh mat khulwao, Ishqi! Bataya Kartik ne mujhe. Ke kaise tumne subah se kuch nahi khaya. Bol raha tha busy thi par ye nahi bataya ki kis cheez me busy thi to chalo ab khud ki zubani sunao khud ki bevkoofi ki kahani! Come on, shuru ho jao!”
His suspicious eyes glared at her when silence stretched between them.
“Kya kar rahi thi, Ishqi?”
“Kuch nahi!”
“Apne husband se jhooth bolne wali wives ko narak me bhi jagah nahi milti!”
Her shoulders began to shake as controlling her giggles at the ridiculously hilarious comments that he was making became tough.
“Apne wife se zabardasti kuch bhi bulvane wale husbands ko kahi jagah nahi milti. Yahi bhatakna padta hai unhe! Kahiye… bhatakti aatma banna hai aapko?”
“Bhatakti what?”
She sighed. “Hashtag HarvardModeOn,” she muttered under her breath.
“Taunts baad me marna. Tell me what I am asking first!”
“Bola na kuch nahi.”
“Tum batao ya to main Kartik ko ulta latka kar usse sach nikalwata hoon!”
Her horrified eyes lifted at him before she gave in, knowing he was very well capable of doing what he had just uttered.
“Aapke surprise birthday party ki decorations jo ki ab surprise nahi raha. Thanks to you!”
He sat stunned for several long seconds until he rose to his feet but she gripped his wrist.
“Please don’t feel guilty! Main sach me aapka birthday special banana chahti thi! Aur main… thik hoon!”
“Tum thik nahi ho. Tum paagal ho, bevakoof ladki!” He sat back, Inching closer to her. He slapped her forehead. “You have to do nothing to make my birthday special. Tumhara meri zindagi me hona mera har din special banata hai! To bas… mere birthday pe mere saath rehna. Ho jayega mera birthday special!”
