“Tumhe mujh par bharosa hai na?”
“Agar bharosa nahi hota to main yaha nahi hoti!”
She sat perplexed, amused, and worried – all at a time – upon seeing a weird satisfaction swimming in his eyes as a huge smile crept over his lips.
What was up with her man?
What had bothered him to the extent of showing up in her muhdikhayi the way he did?
AVM wasn’t a drunkard, she knew and the way everything that he was saying in the effect of alcohol revolved around seeking her forgiveness was unsettling her.
What was he saying sorry for?
“Main meri family jaisa nahi hoon. Main tumhe kabhi dhokha nahi dunga.”
Her heart almost broke at his desperate attempt of trying to gain her trust. His mother was his weak point. No matter what he appeared to the world, she knew who he was.
Still that weeping child who longed for his mother!
Still that broken naive man afraid of getting judged for what his mother had done years ago.
Scooping his face in her palms, she quickly wiped the traces of tears on his cheeks. “I don’t know what has happened that has triggered your insecurities in the way as brutal as this, AVM but I am the last person you need to prove anything to. Main jaanti hoon aap kya hai! Diwali me puri duniya ke diyo ki roshni mila bhi di na to bhi… to bhi… it won’t be enough to dim your light, AVM.”
It
Won’t
Be
Enough
To
Dim
Your
Light,
AVM.
