Thipkyanchi Rangoli – Episode 177 – Written Update and Episode Review

He fell for the kind of a heart that she had. He fell for the sense of familiarity that her heart brought. He fell for the comforting vibe of the moments that his brain no longer remembered for his heart was beyond the need for the memories of their past lives. He fell for her because his heart had recognized its soulmate right when it stood in her fragrance. – IAdoreYouCreates

The episode begins with Apurva telling the Kukki gang that now that every misunderstanding has been cleared, they should start with some serious planning for Bbai Aatya’s wedding.

Nikhil – Indeed, we have to do that but before that, it is very important to thank you.

Manasi Vahini – Appu, words will fall short to thank you for what you have done today.

Shashank joins the conversation and is about to express himself but Apurva moves away from him. Apurva says to Kukki – I am a very bad girl, ain’t I?

Kukki – Not at all. Appu, you are a very nice girl… like pure gold but we created a wrong impression of you in our heads. We’re really sorry.

Sumi joins the apology party – yes, our elders misunderstood you and you, despite being a member of our gang… even we misunderstood you. I really apologize to you on everyone’s behalf. Really sorry.

Nikhil salutes Apurva – SIster, really… hats off to you.

Apurva sighs – are you guys done with your thanksgiving session? Let me know when you are done. How many times are you guys going to say ‘thank you’? Listen, Dad and Atti always tell me this one thing – we say thank you to outsiders. Now you all decide and tell me if I am a part of you guys or an outsider.

Manasi Vahini – Appu, you are the Lakshmi of this house. You have made us yours in such a short time.

Apurva circles her hand around Manasi Vahini’s shoulder – I did, no? Then why do we need these formalities?

Shashank again makes an attempt to talk to Apurva but all in vain. She again moves to Kukki – okay enough now, let’s start with Babi Aatya’s wedding preparations. Why are you guys giving me so much importance for no reason?

Nikhil – For no reason? This is not going on for no reason. Who thinks the way you do these days, Appu? Kukki nods.

Apurva – Look, Nikhil Dada, you also wanted to contribute to the expenses related to Babi Aatya’s wedding, no? In the same way, I also really want to contribute but I can’t contribute on my own. You getting it? That is why… what I did was… I just gave a chance to a brother to do something for his sister at her wedding. That’s it. Okay, forget about it now. Listen to my planning.

She moves from Kukki and Nikhil to Mansi, Sumi and Prachi as she starts sharing her planning related to Babi’s Aatya’s marriage functions.

Shashank stops her in her place, holding her by the shoulders and apologizes to her in front of everyone, shocking the whole Kukki gang.

Apurva asks Kukki – what did he say? What did I hear just now?

Kukki – Sorry.

Sumi, Manasi and Prachi in unison – forgive me.

Nikhil and Kukki hum, teasing Shashank like usual.

Apurva – Dr. Shashank Kanitkar – what has happened today? YOU are saying sorry to ME? A gold-medalist scientist Dr. Shashank Kanitkar is saying sorry to this B.A. failed Appu?

Sumi asks Apurva to forgive Shashank the way she has forgiven everyone.

Apurva – Aww, poor Sumi! Feeling bad for your dearest brother but you know what, your dearest brother is saying sorry to me right now but he will again start yelling right after two minutes.

Kukki gang nods, agreeing to Apurva but Shashank shakes his head, refuting her. He says – it is nothing of that sort. It was quite late at night and on top of that, she was stumbling on her feet and the smell of the alcohol… misunderstanding happened but fine, no? I am apologizing, right?

Prachi says only sorry will not work. He has to take out money and only then his apology will be considered. Apurva supports Prachi and says that they should indeed take a penalty from Dr. Shashank Kanitkar. Nikhil adds that they must get a treat from Shashank.

Shashank agrees to give everyone a party when they start chanting humari maange puri karo! Shashank and the Kukki gang share some sweet moments.

Later when Apurva quietly gets into the bed, Shashank follows her, saying – one Shishta (I can’t translate ‘Shishta’ please, sorry about that) girl has come to sleep on time like a good girl today. What’s special?

Apurva royally ignores him.

Shashank – What is this new thing now? You don’t want to talk to me? Have you started that katti-batti that kids do?

Apurva grabs her phone and starts typing.

Shashank – I am talking to you. What are you doing on your phone.

Apurva sends a message to him that says – you can sleep outside like you did yesterday.

Hearing his phone buzz, Shashank pulls out his phone and asks her – oh okay. Is this how we are supposed to talk now? Alright. He reads her message aloud and says – the thing is – I was really mad at you yesterday so I went out to sleep but it’s not the case today. My anger has gone and you also forgive me. Look, Apurva – if you really ask me to go out, I will go and sleep but what about you? Will you be able to sleep? You sleep with your this teddy I mean my hand, no? You are used to that now so that is why I am saying… consider it again.

Visibly acknowledging what he is saying, Apurva seems to know that she might not be able to sleep but she doesn’t let it influence her decision.

Shashank – I get it. Today you are extremely, extremely mad.

Apurva sends him another message that says – I don’t like you at all.

Shashank sits on the bed, nodding – I know you don’t like me.

Apurva grabs her phone again and sends – Not like you like me. You don’t like me either, do you?

A sweet smile plays on his lips as he reads her message, responding – well honestly… that is not true. I like you a little sometimes. Like when it gets late for me to return from the institute – you worry for me. When I had left the farmhouse, you had come running behind me in the scorching sun and that is why… I like you a little sometimes.

Apurva sends another message that says – it was just a formality.

Shashank laughs reading her message and asks how does she know a word as tough as formality [ aupcharikata in Marathi ]

Her message responds – you keep saying it every now and then. That is how I know.

Shashank nods – but your love for my family is not a formality. That is absolutely real and that is why I like this Shishta… a little… sometimes.

Apurva keeps her phone aside, causing an instant change of expression in Shashank. Visibly disappointed, he asks her to continue typing so that they can talk but her silent treatment continues, making Shashank get up from bed.

Shashank – So you don’t want to talk? You want me to go outside and sleep? Fine, I am going. I am supposed to sleep outside only, no?

She starts typing again.

Shashank – It takes so long to say ‘don’t go’, hmm?

He opens her message that says, yes, bye!

Shashank – Bye? Fine. I am going. I am going out to sleep. Let the mosquitoes bite me or let anything else happen. I am going. He leaves the room with the bedsheet and pillows and Apurva sleeps.

Outside the room, Shashank ponders over the situation and realizes that he went too wrong about Apurva – Apurva is right. I spoke too harshly to her but I also apologized but she is still mad at me. I was wrong. Let it be. I can never understand this girl.

Later at night, when Apurva is going downstairs to get herself water, she spots a shadow and gets scared and runs back. Her terrified self bumps into Shashank who holds her and tries to calm him down. Later when she tells him that she saw a ghost, his mind cooks up a scary story. He asks her to go back to the room and sleep but she clings to him, saying that she will not sleep alone in the bedroom and asks him to come with her.

Shashank – How is it possible? It was you who asked me to sleep here, no? Then?

Apurva – I am telling you now to come inside so just come.

Shashank agrees but asks if nobody from the Kukki gang has told her that there is a ghost in their house, scaring her even more. He pats her cheeks and comforts her when she starts crying after hearing about the presence of the ghost – shh, shh, don’t be scared. Let’s go inside. I am here, no? Don’t worry.

He takes her inside and asks her if he should bring water for her. She stammers and tells him that she had gone for the same but the ghost appeared. He tries to calm her down and is about to leave to bring water for her but she holds onto his hand and urges him not to leave her alone.

Shashank – I am here, I am here. Calm down.

Apurva – Khadoos?

Shashank – Yes?

Apurva – That ghost… won’t here come, no?

Shashank – You never know. It can come but you don’t worry. I am right here.

She rests her head on his hand while he struggles to suppress his chuckle.

Apurva – Khadoos, we really have a ghost here?

Shashank – I don’t get how nobody told you about this.

Apurva – What?

Shashank – That we do have a ghost here. Probably they didn’t tell you thinking that you will get scared.

Apurva gets up – Khadoos, tell me honestly. We really have a ghost here?

Shashank – You just saw it, didn’t you? Apurva, you want to know whose ghost is this?

She shakes her head but he says that she should listen. She nods. Shashank adds that they must turn the lights off because otherwise the ghost will hear them but she sternly refuses, telling him that ghosts stay in the dark.

Shashank – It works differently for humans and ghosts, Apurva. If they like someone, they don’t leave them. Who knows, they might have followed us till here?

A terrified Apurva hugs Shashank who continues to play the game that he has started.

Shashank – Okay, let’s at least dim the lights.

Apurva looks up, unwilling to do that also but he convinces her that he is saying it for their good only. She clings to him again.

Shashank – Let me go? Okay, let’s go like this only but when he struggles to walk, he asks her to hold his hand instead and he turns the lights off.

The moment lights are turned off, Apurva’s fear crosses its threshold.

Shashank – Don’t… don’t be scared. Calm down.

Apurva – Khadoos, you know that I am afraid of the dark, right?

Shashak – I know. I know. You don’t worry. I am right here.

He starts scaring her even more – look, Apurva. You have to take extra care from now onward because that ghost roams around the house at the night and it can listen to what we are talking which is why I am talking to you in this hushed tone.

Apurva grabs his hand again – can it really listen to what we are talking?

Shashank – Absolutely.

She jerks off his hand, frustrated and asks who that ghost is.

Shashahnk – Shh, don’t yell at it.

Apurva – Sorry.

She grabs his hand again and asks in a low voice who that ghost is. Shashank starts with his cooked-up story.

Shashank – Years ago, there used to stay a mathematician in this home. He had a daughter. He used to make sure that she would study well but he died one day and because of that, his daughter’s studies stayed incomplete. And that is why he became a ghost and started taking care of his daughter’s studies again.

Apurva – This has happened long ago, no? How is it related now? Tell me something… where is that girl now?

Shashank – Where will she be now? She is dead but her father’s ghost is right here. It tortures the ones who don’t study.

Apurva – Did I see the ghost because I don’t study?

Shashank – Who knows, you might see it daily from now onwards since you don’t study at all? But don’t be scared. Do one thing. Say 23’s table. You know it, right? Then say it aloud. Let that ghost see that you do study and you know it all, you are clever so that it will leave you alone.

Apurva gets stuck in the middle and hides herself in his arms, confessing that she has forgotten the table. She assures him that she will study hard from tomorrow and urges him to save her from the ghost.

An episode to remember!

From Mr. Kanitkar’s restlessness to apologize to his wife when she was ignoring him to Mrs. Kanitkar seeking comforting protection in her husband’s arms – this was an episode to remember!

Mr. Kanitkar is a gem of a person who sure does have ego and judgment issues but that is limited only to understanding the other person. The moment he is assured that he has gone wrong – his ego doesn’t come in between his apology. How readily and wholeheartedly he apologized today and that – Mr. Kanitkar – is precious. Don’t you ever change that about yourself.

Mr. Kanitkar is one in a trillion. One in a trillion, I repeat! I loved the whole scene where she doesn’t listen to him and he struggles to contain his guilt and eventually ends up holding her to himself and letting her see that he regrets it all.

The Kukki gang made the scene hilarious with their reaction to Mr. Kanitkar’s apology. At times, I really do feel for him. These folks really tease him and seek fun at his plight so much but it’s hilarious to watch.

The whole chat session was lit. I didn’t quite expect our serious khadoos scientist Kanitkar to turn into a teenager whose face fell faster than a drop of water melting in a desert when his favorite person put an end to the conversation.

I don’t think, Mr. Kanitkar would have minded even if the chat session lasted forever.

The confidence that Mr. Kanitkar had that Mrs. Kanitkar was typing a message to stop him from leaving the room though! Poor soul. Should have thought before accusing her instead of asking her, Mr. Kanitkar. Gotta face the repercussions of your actions. No choice there.

I was in splits when Mr. Kanitkar was making lame excuses about mosquitoes and stuff. Uhm, Mr. Kanitkar – were the mosquitos on a vacation yesterday when you had willingly gone out?

Also, the ( over ) smart Mr. Kanitkar was suddenly concerned about how his wife will sleep without her teddy aka his hand! You conveniently forgot that she needs her teddy to sleep, yesterday, didn’t you?

Mr. Kanitkar is a funny man. He is not what we saw in the beginning. Mr. Kanitkar wears a mask that only falls off in front of his wife. His sweet, playful and endearing side is only reserved for his wife.

You gotta stop being so sweet, Mr. Kanitkar. You are making people fall for you and you are already taken. Just STOP!

The highlight of the episode –

Khadoos Scientist Kanitkar cooking up a story so lame,
That will put even a five-year-old to shame!

I have nothing to write about the best part of the episode. You can’t describe it. You can just feel it.

Mr. Kanitkar holding his wife so securely to himself!
Mrs. Kanitkar not letting Mr. Kanitkar step away even for a second!

Mr. Kanitkar abandoning his favorite serious attitude and embracing the craziness that his wife rubbed off on him!
Mrs. Kanitkar clinging to Mr. Kanitkar, believing that no matter what, long as she is in her husband’s arms, she is safe.

An episode to remember indeed!
