My so-called cousin who happens to be your so-called colleague is making me drown in the insecurities,
I no longer want to play this guess who’s in my heart game so just tell me who is the inspiration behind your melodies.
I need neither a romantic setup nor a proposal too fancy,
Just hold my hand and tell me that you sang that song for me.

The episode begins with Apurva revealing to everyone that Shashank is in the costume of the Police because she had asked him to wear it if he likes her and he actually did. Everyone smiles and laughs upon hearing her while Shashank gets embarrassed. He corrects her, saying that they all were supposed to follow that theme and asks why nobody is wearing it. Sumi tells him that they canceled the plan because Apurva and his outfit were matching today. Shashank mildly confronts her about why he wasn’t informed about it, saying that he is the odd man out there. Kukki tells him that it’s okay since he is caring for someone’s feelings. Babi Aatya reminds him of the conversation that they had where she had told him that he cannot say no to Apurva. Kukki asks him who he truly is – a scientist or an inspector. Amey corrects him and modifies the question – if he is a khadoos scientist or a khadoos inspector.
Netra tells Tanmayi that she should get going now since the function seems quite personal, adding that she would be back for the reception in the evening and she leaves.
Babi Aatya and Bhaskar’s wedding takes place and Kanitkar men get emotional watching Babi Aatya finally getting her share of happiness. Apurva catches tears in Shashank’s eyes and attempts to cheer him up by throwing rose petals on him. He reminds her that they are already married. She tells him that she did not get to throw rice on his head at their wedding. He corrects her, telling her that it’s not rice but akshata. She tells him that she wants to take the feel of their wedding again. He asks – now? She nods – I don’t mind. And continues to throw the rose petals at him.
Later when everyone is sitting and chilling after the wedding, Apurva and Prachi tease Bhaskar and Babi Aatya who are busy talking to each other. Prachi tells Bhaskar that he shouldn’t be talking to Babi Aatya till Bidai which he does not approve. Apurva adds that he can talk to her either through them or in front of everyone. She comes up with an idea that they should present a duet to which they both say no initially but Apurva insists and announces that they are going to sing together.
When Babi Aatya can’t decide which song to sing, Bhaskar asks her to sing the one that she used to sing when they were in college. She blushes as everyone gets back to teasing them. While the duo is presenting a beautiful duet, Shashank and Apurva exchange glances. Apurva praises Babi Aatya, teasing her about how her face was glowing when Bhaskar was singing with her. She tells Apurva that when someone who loves us sings for us, then all of the emotions in that song reflect on our faces. She tells Apurva that her face holds the same expression when Shashank sings. When Apurva asks her if she is being honest, she nods, sharing that she has seen it.
Shashank catches Netra and goes outside to receive her. He says that she left without telling him and eating back then. She asks him if he noticed even with the amount of work that he was stuck in. Apurva walks out and catches them talking. She feels that Netra’s face glows while talking to Shashank the same way how Babi Aatya’s face was glowing.
Before Shashank and Netra could continue their conversation, Amey drags Shashank back in saying that he has a surprise to show. Netra stops Apurva who is about to leave and starts taunting her. She asks her how her studies are going to which Apurva responds by saying that they are going well. Netra, however, comments that it does not really matter since a girl like her is anyway not going to pass the exams. Apurva asks her what she means by a girl like her.
She laughs, shrugging it off asking her to leave it – when a person like Shashank Sir has lost hopes in you, why should I say something? Poor guy. He is a scientist and see what kind of a wife that he has got. A B.A. fail girl. How shameful it must be for him no whenever he has to share his wife’s education with others?
Apurva gets upset and asks her if this is the only way that she can talk to her, adding that even after studying so much, she doesn’t know how to talk to people.
Netra – Okay, let me talk nicely. So tell me what is string theory? What is a black hole? Do you at least know about the law of relativity?
Apurva – This is not a part of my curriculum.
Netra – Oh, sorry. I forgot that you are a student of arts, no? Then you must have finished agonism and the democracy?
Apurva – Why do I have to tell you about my studies in the first place? Who are you? My teacher? My classmate? Who are you?
Netra – Admit that you don’t know instead of questioning me. What do you expect? That a studious girl like me should talk to you about pubs and parties?
Sumi interrupts their conversation and takes Apurva inside where everyone is forcing Shashank to sing. Kukki asks him to sing something that Apurva will like. Shashank says that he will sing what has come to his mind now. He starts singing Olya Sanjveli. Apurva and everyone else gets almost lost in his song until Netra joins Shashank and starts singing. Apurva and the Kukki gang get visibly upset at the sight. Shashank stands momentarily helpless realizing the impact of Netra joining him but continues the song anyway. He walks toward Apurva as he sings his part upon witnessing her tears. Netra follows Shashank and stands beside him. Suva Aai seems to notice the distraught Apurva because of Netra.
Everyone claps for Shashank and praises him while Apurva sits with her own emotions.
M Y T A K E
I am almost never learning to say no to you, Darling,
For I can let go of all my pride and even be a clown because watching your smile has become my favorite feeling.
When Shashank confronted the Kukki gang about why he wasn’t informed about the change in the plan, all that I could say was – Shashank Hypocrite Kanitkar. xD. Tell me, why on the earth will they inform you about any changes in the plan that YOU HAD BLUNTLY refused to be a part of? Come on, Mr. Kanitkar, I am sure you memory isn’t that bad. Rewind the footage in your brain and recall what you had said – that you weren’t going to wear the costumes, that you shouldn’t be counted in that plan and a lot more. Kuch yaad aaya? So when you had already – firmly and stubbornly told them that you wouldn’t be a part of this circus – why the heck would they tell you about any changes in the plan? Unko pata hi kaha tha ke aap circus me shaamil hone wale hai?
Like I always say, Mr. Kanitkar is a funny man. Inka apna hi chalta hai. Apni hi duniya banakar rakhi hai jisme Mrs. Kanitkar ka naam japte rehte hai. Baki bahar kya chal raha, ye kya bol rahe hai – inko kuch nahi pata.
Bas Mein Na Mere, Ab Ye Raha Hai,
Tujh Pe Aake Dil Ye Jo Ruka Hai!

Jokes apart, I have to appreciate this man for his willingness to go to any lengths just to make his wife smile. I still can’t get over that he legit wore those clothes. This may seem such a small and insignificant thing to some but pause for a moment and think – Shashank has always been a studious, sincere, and just simple guy all along. He has never quite indulged in the kind of things that he is now indulging in because of and for Apurva. I doubt if he has ever participated in the fancy dress competition as a kid and now, as a scientist, he has his own personality and reputation, or rather I should say he has made his personality and reputation with his sincere dedication and immense hard work For someone like him, to do something like this, despite knowing that this would probably earn him a lot of weird glances, hilarious remarks and a lot more than that since even his colleagues are there – this was a huge thing to do and the fact that he did it is so wholesome. Solely and solely for Mrs. Kanitkar.
Jealous Netra Ma’am couldn’t watch the public display of personal affection and abandoned the place. Good, this is anyway not the place where you should be lingering around, Netra Ma’am. You are a studious girl and have got a lot to accomplish in life. Going behind a married man and wasting your time, watching him pamper his wife isn’t something that you should be doing.
Mr. Kanitkar getting all emotional at the wedding wasn’t surprising. Mr. Kanitkar has always been sensitive about his people. Remember how vulnerable he was when Sumi was getting married? No worries though because he has got a wife who precisely knows how to handle his every shade and mood. I kinda loved the whole scene. It was small, sweet, and significant.
“I want to take the feel of our wedding again.”
Read between the lines, Mr. Kanitkar. Listen to the unsaid words of Mrs. Kanitkar. She is trying to tell you something which you aren’t deciphering at all.
The woman for whom the wedding was based on a contract and who had made it clear that they would part ways after a year along with that she was marrying him solely because she was helpless and had no choice. Look at her now. Will anyone believe that this woman did not marry this man out of willingness? Will anyone believe that this woman holds no feelings for this man? Will anyone believe that this woman is not head over heels in love with this man? Will anyone believe? I don’t think so.
Bhaskar and Babi Aatya’s duet moment was beautiful. Not just that it was beautifully shot but also incredibly justified. From picking the same song that their tale had resumed after years with to the visible affection in their stance and eyes for each other as they sang together. It was lovely.
Mr. Kanitkar’s eyes finding Mrs. Kanitakar during the song, that subtle raise of brows… asking her what is going on in her mind and Mrs. Kanitkar looking away – these tiny moments are what make them so appealing. No matter what’s happening – these two always end up looking for each other in every single scene of life.
And here came Netra Ma’am again! Sigh. We thought you are busy and a focused one, Netra Ma’am. You can’t be taking out your precious time to attend every function of the family that you should actually be staying away from. Have you forgotten that you yourself had said that those people don’t kinda like you? Why go to a place where you aren’t liked? You deserve better, Netra Ma’am. Kanitkars aren’t the people that you should waste your time on because you will get nothing here. Can’t truly blame them either though because had you come with genuine intentions, these people would have showered you with unconditional love but your sole motive is to hurt the woman they adore to the extent you cannot even imagine, Netra Ma’am. You truly have no idea that if you dare to harm this woman or her relationship with her husband – these Kanitkars would turn this life into a living nightmare for you. Please don’t force them to do that because neither they nor we will be too glad to see you fall flat on your face again and again. Fortunately or unfortunately, we aren’t sadists, Netra Ma’am.
Anyone can memorize the law of relativity and the string theory, Netra Ma’am. It’s no big deal but it is so sad that you do not know that there is a school beyond the traditional schools and that is called – the School of Life. You may have topped your school but I am so sorry to say that you haven’t probably even gone to the school of life yet because had you gone, you wouldn’t have found pleasure in putting someone down.
Your education holds no value if you do not learn, understand and acknowledge that you will never know enough that can allow you to look down upon someone who does not hold that knowledge. Life education is as important as school education.
And here came – Shashank Bhavkhau Kanitkar.
Kitna bhaav khata hai ye insaan? Till the time, it doesn’t boil down to his wife, he has a habit of not taking it seriously but once she comes, he is all in for doing all sorts of things that he himself had once said no to.
Sing what Apurva will like.
I will sing whatever that has come to my mind.
Karna Sab Hai Bas Manna Nahi Hai!
Everything was going well until Netra Ma’am thought that this was an open duet that she could join without any invitation or permission. Shaking my head. Someone needs to tell Netra Ma’am that you cannot just join someone like that and spoil the mood of everyone who had gathered there to listen to the singer. Are aapko sun ne ke liye nahi baithe hai ye log! Samajhti hi nahi hai ye! Aise kisi ki aur ki established audience ka mood kharab nahi karte! Apni audience banao aur unhe sunao. Inn becharo ko baksh do, Netra Ma’am. Inke bas ki nahi hai aapko jhlena – I mean – aapke talent ki kadar karna. Ye nahi karenge. Inke bas ke bahar ki cheez hai wo.
My heart sank for Apurva. I genuinely felt so bad for her. Minutes ago, Babi Aatya was telling her about how her face glows when Shashank sings for her and when he actually started singing, her whole mood was mercilessly pushed to the bottom of the well of the misery by our not-so-very-own Netra Ma’am. I wonder what all that Apurva must have thought about in those moments.
That Netra compliments Shashank so well.
She can sing also and create a beautiful performance with him that I – can probably never do.
She really is the perfect match for him.
She holds an interest in everything that he does and is good at it too.
She…compliments him and I…
Poor woman! My heart goes out to her. She does not deserve to deal with these insecurities time and again. She does not.
