Thipkyanchi Rangoli – Episode 254 – Episode Review

Why aren’t you picking up my call, Apurva?
I have to tell you that the memory of our special day is safe under my love’s umbrella!
How would I let something break,
That you were so happy to make!
This is the memory that you and I have made,
How I wish you could listen to the unsaid!
The unsaid confession that is yet to find my voice,
That you are mine not by the contract but by choice.

Had you handled your wife’s heart as delicately as you are handling this trophy, she would have been here with you today, dancing on your bed in the kind of ecstasy you would have been able to never fathom. His heart taunted, shaking its head at his longing gaze that couldn’t help but come back to its currently favorite sight. The trophy!

The Best Couple trophy that he had won with the woman who had brought the honor of being the best couple to him.

What do you mean? I don’t care about Apurva’s emotions? Offended, he hated the accusation that had been just put on him.

Did I say that? That’s your problem, Khadoos. You want to pick only what suits you. You want to believe only what suits you. You want to remember… only what suits you. His heart so desperately wished that it could come out of his body and smack his head till it was successful in knocking some sense into his brain that was just stupid though it acted as if it was the most intelligent one that has ever existed in the history of scientists. You remembered that she broke your promise that day but forgot that she had told you – that she was keeping away something from you because she felt that you wouldn’t understand. And by doing what you did that day – you just proved how right she was about you. She knew you wouldn’t understand her and you didn’t…

So you’re saying that I should be celebrating that my wife broke the promise that she had made to me and wasn’t even slightly guilty about it? He grew anxious by merely recalling the day that had changed everything between him and Apurva and while he was sorry for crossing the limit, he still didn’t believe that he was the only one to be blamed.

Selective listening, again, Khadoos! His heart let out a deep sigh, utterly frustrated. Apurva has clearly had the best intentions for your family. Always. And you know that too. She has given you enough reasons to trust her at least when it comes to your family. Heck, no matter how much you hide it from others – you yourself believe that if there is someone you can blindly trust your family with then it is Apurva.

I am not denying that! He admitted, recalling the moments of his wife with his family, acknowledging how Apurva’s unconditional love and affection for his family had always overwhelmed him.

Even before becoming his, she had become his family’s and that still stayed something that he could only admire.

Mr. Kanitkar and his precious trophy that he was being so careful in handling certainly made me smile. That trophy is his sweet little treasure now. He has been a brilliant one in academics all along. The man surely must have won a whole lot of trophies in his life but now ask him which is the favorite one he has received to date. Mr. Kanitkar wouldn’t take a minute to lift the one he is holding so securely in his hands.

This trophy is my favorite because I have won this with and because of my favorite one – Khadoos’s Shishta!

Chup chup baithe ho, zaroor koi baat hai,
Batao kya ye raaz hai, batao kya ye raaz hai!

And there comes the Kukki Gang jinse kuch bhi chupana mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai! I don’t know how they always catch him red-handed and get into the teasing session.

Mr. Kanitkar ran as fast as he could to hide his treasure that he knew was going to invite a whole lot of uncomfortable questions and mischievous glances at him but all in vain. He should have remembered – the Kukki Gang was too stubborn to let him keep any secret from them. Inko sab jaan-na hota hai!

He sighed, recalling how they could get every single thing out of his innocent wife and how he had to be on his toes, constantly alert even while romancing his wife not knowing what all that she would blurt out to her favorite Kukki Gang, being a loyal member.

The whole scene was both sweet and hilarious with Sumi’s comments here and there, Amey’s strange glances at Sumi wondering how she knew all those things, Manasi’s glare at Amey when Sumi mentioned how Nikhil took her to some hotel to spend some time with her, Kukki’s advice to Shashank about how Apurva has changed a lot of her lifestyle and habits for him and Kanitkars and how he shouldn’t be thinking twice before changing himself for her sake and Shashank getting frustrated by the end.

“Mhanje ha boyfriend navacha jo prani asto to nemka kasa asto?”

Mr. Kanitkar and the jokes he makes even without trying though!

Can you not listen, Appu?
Not just us but even my unborn is missing you!
I don’t know if it’s a he or she at the moment,
But I can assure you that the baby loves his Badbadi Kaku who is never silent.

Such a sweet scene where Manasi brings up the ice cream craving just so that she can go out and meet Apurva. It went the usual Kanitkars way with Apurva being Apurva – the crazy one – and Amey and Manasi enjoying seeing that side of her after quite a while.

The phone call was going just fine but there enters Mr. Kanitkar whose invisible antenna must have alerted him of his wife’s voice even when his ears practically couldn’t hear.

The back and forth argument between Mr. and Mrs. Kanitkar was quite interesting with the former being visibly desperate to anyhow get her to come back no matter what sort of excuses it made him make for it and the latter refusing to let any of his attempts work.

The call ended with no closure as usual but the restless Mr. Kanitkar and his heart weren’t content with the couple of minutes that they got with Mrs. Kanitkar. They don’t lie when they say that if you need to find an excuse – you will see everything that you can potentially use. And Mr. Kanitkar’s eyes caught the trophy, making his heart do a breakdance because now that trophy was going to help him break the icy silence between him and his wife.

But the wife wasn’t in the mood to hold a conversation with her husband. Well, the husband deservesd it though.

The Counsellor Like No Other

Dr. Damayanti Dudhkhule is a character. xD. I legit coughed when she went ahead with spraying the room freshener. Gave away that DaDu is obsessed with fragrances. Personally, I love fragrances as well. That’s something that instantly shifts my mood.

Mr. and Mrs. Kanitkar have no chill. Inko to puchne ki bhi zaroorat nahi padi. Ye dono aise hi shuru ho gaye!

But no matter what, even when they are in fight mode and ridiculously mad at each other, they consider themselves to be of each other and that’s something I really like. When DaDu offered them tea or coffee and Apurva was about to ask for something to eat, Shashank held her back because apparently, it was not the ideal behavior in his opinion. Even in the middle of the conflict, he thought of stopping her which I don’t know if he even realizes that he did because he cares about his wife’s reputation in general. Not like Apurva asking what she was going to ask was going to really make a difference in my opinion – uh I am not sure how to put it into words – think of it like we hold back our family members from doing certain things in front of others because we don’t find them appropriate. It’s not really bossing around or dominating. Just the willingness to be formal if and when needed.

Lovely episode!

This episode was an outburst of emotions of all the Kanitkars! The unconditional pure bonds they share. Da du was quite a number and she really did keep the vibe light! Mr. and Mrs. Kanitkar ke kya hi kehne! They are a classic example of “Can’t live with, can’t live without!” And your take.. as usual is a treat to read! Makes me think, read between the lines and even go back to watch it again! Much love.
