Thipkyanchi Rangoli – Episode 329 – Episode Review

Let the water drip from the ceiling,
Or let us have to deal with a cold ridiculously freezing.
You still won’t hear a single complaint from our side,
Because we are Kanitkars – experts at turning anything and everything into a joyful ride.

Saari Duniya Ek Taraf Hai, Ek Taraf Hai Hum,
Har Khushi Toh Dur Bhaage, Mil Rahe Hai Gham!

But When You Smile For Me, World Seems All Right,
Yeh Meri Zindagi, Pal Mein Hi Khil Jaaye!

I remember saying that Apurva was made for Kanitkars and Kanitkars, for Apurva. I would like to modify that a bit today and gladly say – everyone in this family was made for this family, truly and honestly. What a heartwarming episode this one was! Watched it early in the morning and absolutely did not regret it. Made my morning better and brighter than it already was.

I think, one of the nicest things about Thipkyanchi Rangoli is the small tracks they keep introducing here and there which are extremely relatable then be it the leakage issue, financial crisis, or the reunion bit. These bits make you want to watch them because you can relate in some way or the other.

Most middle-class families if not every have – someone like Dada-Kaka who is extremely, extremely cautious about spending money and saving as much as possible | someone like Mai who gets annoyed at the constant nagging when it comes to money | someone like the rest of the family who is chilled out and believes in enjoying today without worrying too much about tomorrow |

And it genuinely makes the show feel so much more personal. You see glimpses of yourself and your people in these characters.

There was no previous scene to back today’s opening scene and yet it didn’t feel like it showed up out of nowhere. It legit started with Apurva asking for the translation for Mitra-Melava and we just got it what it was. I love how smoothly it was introduced and how beautifully it flowed.

Dada-Kaka wasn’t too keen on going to the reunion or rather I should say, he wasn’t up for spending even a penny on himself. As usual. It was as sweet as it could have been to watch Apurva and Manasi assure and reassure Dada-Kaka that they had no complaints, they were facing no troubles and even if they were… they would gladly choose to adjust. It was equally sweet to have Dada-Kaka accept that he

felt guilty that he was failing to keep the promise that he had made to the families of Manasi and Apurva.

Apurva is truly the bossy daughter-in-law that Kanitkars have got and the interesting thing is that they are more than happy to have this bossy daughter-in-law because she acts bossy for them. I laughed… like the Kanitkars did upon hearing Apurva threaten to leave if Dada-Kaka refused to go to the reunion and I smiled… at the hug that followed the sweet warning by our very own bossy daughter-in-law.

There is also a small but very sweet moment where Manasi lays her head on Amey’s shoulder.

Apurva’s enthusiasm in general is quite inspiring, to be honest. This woman makes everything so much more joyful. She legit turned the whole leakage trouble that could have made a lot of people crib into a fun game and made sure that nobody sat there, gloomy.

You don’t do anything. Just listen to me and wear what I choose for you.

It was hilarious the way everyone was laughing when she said that because her Kukki Gang certainly knows what she is capable of making him wear but Shashank though – I think I laughed more at his expression than the Kukki Gang’s. Certainly, Navra knows his Bayko far too well.

I actually did like what Apurva chose for Dada-Kaka. He looked good but let me confess – everyone needs someone like Apurva. I mean, just watch her praise Dada-Kaka and boost his self-esteem in those clothes that he had never really tried before. It is everything.

It is everything. These days, things seem quite complicated. You wear something and there are dozens of eyes ready to judge you, ready to decide what’s fashionable and what’s awful… ready to make you feel not good enough with what you have or in what you are wearing or in what you are doing.

Why I mean it when I say, everyone needs someone like Apurva in their life!

The Kukki Gang was being just themselves. Added their flavor and made the scene hilarious.

Dada-Kaka refused to wear that and walked out while Apurva sat there, feeling bad that he didn’t have any good clothes to wear but a couple of minutes was all that it took for her smart self to come up with an idea. And it was so important that she rushed out without even discussing it with the Kukki Gang and we got our scene of the day – Apurva being Mrs. Shashank Kanitkar. 💜

I have come to realize that Apurva’s I am leaving chant is similar to one of those that someone from most of the families has the habit of chanting. Think of it like a takiya kalam but the one that gets activated only when triggered.

Zara kahi zala ki –

Mala nahi rahaychay ithe.
Mi challiye/challoy ghar sodun.
Mi tuzyashi kadhi mhanje kadhich bolnar nahi.

And we understand it so very well – sab bas baatein hoti hai. 2 ghante baad to yaad bhi nahi hota kis baat ki wajah se bola tha iss baar.

This woman is so incapable of leaving her husband and her home. So truly incapable as Shashank indirectly admitted today.

Jate jate mhanat hi mazya gharat guntat challiye aani halli tar janyacha naav pan kadhat nahi.

Mr. Kanitkar clearly seems to know what his wife truly desires but long as he does not throw away the seed of doubt that is still there in his heart, it will keep shaking his trust in his understanding of Apurva’s feelings.

The whole bit was pretty sweetly significant. Bayko almost snatched Navryacha laptop. Hakkane. And while Navra initially resisted, it didn’t last for more than a moment or two.

Shashank being Shashank, trying to tell Apurva that a middle-class household cannot afford unnecessary expenses and save her from Dada-Kaka’s potential scolding at the same time and Apurva being Apurva, making Shashank see why she was doing what she was doing and eventually Shashank giving in – because Bayko cha mhanana patla.

I love the way he looks at her. The admiration is so evident every time he gets to witness the reality of her heart. One of the most beautiful hearts that he has explored in life!

Dada-Kaka overheard the conversation and was stunned and overwhelmed and rightfully so. Who wouldn’t be overwhelmed?

Abhay and Dr. Anjali’s conversation was interesting but a little bit tough for me to buy. Abhay has a builder who is stubbornly interested in buying Kanitkar’s place. Abhay doesn’t stay in India, does he? I mean, of course, he can have his contacts but I find it strange.

Dr. Anjali questioning Abhay about his feelings for Netra made me laugh. You’re in love with Netra, really? This woman was dreaming about getting him set up with her daughter. Armaano pe paani pher diya bande ne. 😂

Dr. Anjali though. This woman is too calculative for her own bad. Shashank – the guy she couldn’t stand has now become the guy she is okay with because apparently, he is going to have a lot of money if things go as planned by her. Her intention still stays for Apurva’s betterment though. It is because she sees that Shashank will be able to afford the luxuries that she thinks her daughter wants and deserves – she has decided to give up on breaking Apurva and Shashank.

She legit called Abhay – Bawlat. 😂 And that’s where I was like – damn, Woman, you were trying to get your daughter to marry him! 😂

I just have one word for this episode – beautiful.

Nice to read your reviews again….
It was as heartwarming as the episode itself…

As they mention often in the show, Shashank and Apurva being Dada and Mai of their generation …
So Apurva, threatens to leave the house every now and then, just like Mai. And now even our junior Dada is gradually coming to accept that she wouldn’t be able to do so.
These both couples indeed have some similarities, don’t they ?
