Who was he saying it to? Rhea or her? She wondered, keeping aside her burning heart upon seeing his hands wrapped around Rhea’s back.
She is his girlfriend, you fool! She reminded herself for the umpteenth time. It was awful that she was not liking him that close to the woman with whom he was actually in a relationship.
Minutes ago, when he had reminded her to focus on Mayank, she had to resist the tempting urge to walk up to him and beat him black and blue just to let him have an idea of how brutally he had been thrashing her heart lately.
One moment, he made her feel that she mattered to him more than she should as a nobody that she was to him and the next moment, he made her feel that she was a mere stranger to him – the stranger he didn’t give a damn about.
“Usne mujhe kyun bachaya?”
The question was still haunting him but what had unsettled him the most were her little confessions from her drunk night that seemed to have been etched on his heart forever.
Trapped between conflicting thoughts, he struggled to recognize what he should do.

How desperately he wished that his heart had a delete button so that he could eliminate the existence of that night! Because the woman was off-limits. She was his best friend’s fiancée for heaven’s sake.
His heart mocked him, saying that even if it had a delete button, he could have never been able to press it for he could deny as much as he wanted to but that night stayed one of the most beautiful nights in his life.
She forced her feet to take herself away from the sight that her eyes couldn’t stand.
With every step that she took away from him, her heart ached a little more.
She was still stuck with the question that had snatched her sleep.
Why did she matter to her fiancé’s best friend way more than she mattered to her fiancé?
