I am capable of listening to any of your vile remarks,
But dare you utter a word against my wife and you’ll see what a lion does when someone barks.
Unless you’re willing to experience a living hell on the earth,
You better shut your mouth and dare not question my wife’s worth.
Just because I let you talk the nonsense that you want,
Don’t you ever foolishly assume that – to anyone – the right to insult my wife I will grant.
My wife is not just my pride but my life,
Stay away from her unless you want to see the worst side of mine.

The episode begins with Apurva revealing her plan to create signs for Babi Aatya that can convince her that her wedding is around the corner. She tells them that they’re supposed to drop a pinch of vermillion right in her partition so that she would feel that the universe is giving her favorable signals that her wedding with Bhaskar is going to happen soon.
The Kukki gang struggles to do the task at hand as Babi Aatya who is doing her school related work downstairs doesn’t stay still but when finally Sumi makes the vermillion fall into Babi Aatya’s partition, the Kukki gang runs away but Babi Aatya catches Apurva who makes no visible attempt to disappear.
When Babi Aatya questions Apurva about what she is doing, Apurva pretends to be clueless and adds that while she doesn’t know anything about it, it could be the universe’s sign for her.
Furious, Babi Aatya leaves the place and reaches her room. She gets enraged, looking at the vermillion in her partition. To add more to her rage, she spots a B written on her mirror and one stuck on the wall. Frustrated, she tears it down into pieces.
Later when she is stepping out of her room, her leg hits the glass of rice that is kept there. Pushed beyond her limits, she starts screaming Apurva’s name.
The Kukki gang runs away for yet another time and Apurva walks to Babi Aatya who holds her and asks her what she is doing. Apurva, for yet another time, refuses to admit having any involvement in it. But when she adds again that it could be the universe’s signs, Babi Aatya calms herself down to explain to her that signs are not supposed to be created. One has to experience that.
Babi Aatya – What are you thinking? That I will change my decision and get ready to marry Bhaskar with these fake signs that you are creating? It doesn’t work that way, Appu.
Apurva – I am not going that far right now, Babi Aatya. About that wedding thing… nobody is going to force any decision on you. It’s completely your decision but someone who acknowledges their mistake deserves one sorry, no?
Babi Aatya – How do I make you understand! Appu, a wedding is not in my fate.
Apurva – Love IS. You are not looking around properly, Babi Aatya. You are not observing things. Either you are not seeing the signs or you don’t want to see them. You staring at the tickets for the movies you had gone to watch with Bhaskar Kaka, you getting lost in those beautiful memories, Bhaskar Kaka coming here to talk to you… all of these signs seem favorable to me. Listen to me… just once… meet him just once.
Babi Aatya accepts her defeat and finally gives in, telling Apurva that she would go to meet him once but only because she wants her to. Babi Aatya asks Apurva to keep her lips sealed regarding this meeting in front of the Kanitkars. Apurva readily agrees, overjoyed with the mere fact that Babi Aatya is ready to meet Bhaskar.
The scene shifts to Shashank’s institute where Netra enters his cabin and asks him if he is stressed due to work since she has been catching him smiling to himself these days. When Shashank denies it, Netra stays on her word and adds that maybe he doesn’t know and he should ask her instead as she keeps observing that he is always lost in some thoughts and then starts smiling to himself.
Shashank asks her to focus on the lab readings instead of his face reading. She asks him if he is going to eat now that it is lunchtime or if he is going to fill his stomach with someone’s memories. She adds that she has made his favorite Baingan Ka Bharta and brought it for him.
Shashank makes it clear that neither does he like someone apart from his family doing something for him nor is he used to it but since she has brought it today, he will taste it a bit.
Netra – I am not good at just studies. I can cook very well as well.
Shashank doesn’t even spare her a glance as he nods – good.
Netra – I am not like other girls who know neither studies nor home chores.
Visibly bothered, Shashank stays quiet at the indirect taunts that Netra makes on Apurva.
Netra – Such girls are just not marriage materials but trap good husbands for themselves on their rich father’s money.
Shashank – Mind your words, Netra. Not a word against Apurva, alright? Because very few girls in the world are capable of what she is capable of doing, hmm?
Netra – I was talking in general, Sir but I am sorry if it applies to your wife. No, I do know that she is good at neither studies nor home chores but do you also feel that she isn’t marriage material?
Shashank’s patience ends. He picks up his tiffin and leaves the cabin, leaving an infuriated Netra behind.
At Kanitkar’s residence, Apurva reveals to the Kukki gang that Babi Aatya is ready to meet Bhaskar now which makes them overjoyed. She tells them to keep quiet about the whole thing as Babi Aatya has said that nobody should know about this.
Sumi – Sure. We will tell Babi Aatya that Appu hasn’t told us that you are going to meet Bhaskar Kaka and that we know nothing about this.
Amey – Sumi, God has given you a brain, no?
Sumi – Any doubt?
Amey – Then make some use of it apart from just making hair styles.
Sumi -What do you mean?
Amey apologizes to Nikhil and so does, Kukki who shakes his head, telling them that it’s okay.
Apurva puts an end to the unnecessary talks and shows them the message that she has typed for Bhaskar. The Kukki gang approves the message informing Bhaskar that Babi Aatya is ready to meet him and asking him to let them know about the place and time.
Bhaskar heaves a sigh of relief, after reading Apurva’s message and thanks Apurva, commenting that she is great.
Apurva goes to Babi Aatya’s room to tell her that Bhaskar is going to meet her in the Sunrise Restaurant. Babi Aatya confirms for yet another time that Apurva has told nobody. Apurva teases her a bit as she plays around, telling her that she has told one person which gets Babi Aatya anxious until Apurva reveals that she has told Bhaskar.
Apurva silently apologizes to Babi Aatya, as she realizes that she has told the Kukki gang about it, assuring herself that lies spoken for the good deeds get forgiven. Babi Aatya repeatedly tells her not to tell anyone about it. She also adds that she is going to meet Bhaskar only because of Apurva and that no other expectations should be kept from her. Apurva readily nods, hugs Babi Aatya and rushes down where she collides with Shashank who is entering home.
Apurva (in her mind) – Sigh. Now he will definitely start yelling at me.
Shashank (in his mind) – She has collided with me but now she will fight with me as if I have deliberately collided with her.
But much to Shashank’s surprise, Apurva hugs him. He looks around to check if anyone is watching them as he asks her what she is doing.
Apurva pulls herself back a little – Khadoos, everything is fair in love and war, right?
Shashank – What did you say?
Apurva – They say that everything is fair in love and war, no? That is why I am doing this.
And with that, she hugs him again, making Shashank wonder if she is confessing her feelings for him. He decides that he will confess his love as well if that is the case.
Shashank pulls himself back, telling her that it doesn’t look good if anyone watches him like that. She adds that she doesn’t care since she is extremely happy for Babi Aatya.
Shashank – Babi Aatya?
Apurva – Yes. I am so happy that even if you ask me to study today… I won’t get mad at you.
Shashank – Keep studies aside for a moment and tell me what you were saying about Babi Aatya.
Apurva – Babi Aatya has agreed to meet Bhaskar Kaka.
Shashank – Really?
Apurva – Yes. Love is in the air, Khadoos. I am so happy for them.
Shashank – One.. one minute. Babi Aatya has agreed just to meet him. Not to marry him Don’t keep your hopes high.
Apurva – She has said yes to meeting him today. She can say yes to marrying him tomorrow. You never know. That is why you have to always think positive.
Shashank -No, that is good but I think, one should be ready for the bad things also.
Apurva – Meh. I ain’t doing it.
Shashank – Why?
Apurva – Because I KNOW that Babi Aatya’s life will be all about happiness now. I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Later in Babi Aatya’s room, Apurva tries to convince Baboi Aatya to wear a Punjabi dress instead of a Saree, reasoning that Bhaskar will like it. Babi Aatya reminds her that she is going to meet him only for her and it is not her concern what Bhaskar will like and what not. And please don’t think that my decision is going to change after meeting him. That’s not happening.
Apurva – When you will get there… stand a little ahead.
Babi Aatya – Why?
Apurva – So that the distance between you two will already start decreasing.
Babi Aatya laughs as she tells her that decreasing physical distances changes nothing – unless the emotional distance ends, it does not matter how close you two physically are. It should come from your heart that you want to meet and talk to the person. When this emotional distance ends, that’s when we actually come closer.
Apurva hums.
Babi Aatya refuses to change into a different Saree and tells Apurva that she will go to meet Bhaskar in that same Saree. A disappointed Apurva adds that she would have gotten to nicely get ready had Babi Aatya gotten ready as well, making Babi Aatya question where she was going to go by getting ready.
Apurva tells her that she is accompanying her.
M Y T A K E
The episode flaunting three major relationship goals –
1. Appu and Babi Aatya
2. Appu and the Kukki Gang
3. Apurva and Shashank
When things change, it can get quite tough to bring yourself to the acceptance especially when you can’t seem to connect to the change no matter how hard you try! I am sure, you must have figured out by now that I am talking about Netra. Honestly, I am not someone to cling to things and people so I do let go without letting it get to my head if I am willing to let go and here, I was pretty much willing to because genuinely, there is nothing that you can do about the situation so there is no point in investing your energy into slamming your head on the wall with damn, she should have stayed even if that’s quite honest if I have to talk about myself.
I invested in Netra because I always saw her as human. A grey character. Never a vamp or a villain so I ain’t shying away from admitting that I no longer hold the same connect to her. And it is not something that I will entirely put on the actress. Nah. The dialogues that were given to her in this particular episode were extremely weird as well.
Made her look kinda dumb that Netra never was.
Made her look kinda illogical that Netra never was.
Netra may not have been one of your favorites. She said awful things, I agree. She has crossed the lines, not once but multiple times, I know but she was unapologetically herself. She was the straightforward one who held the guts to say what her heart held on people’s faces regardless of how good or ugly that was. She wasn’t the one to sit in a corner, do the schemings, sugarcoat things, be nice in front of people and a bitch behind their backs. Nope. She never pretended to be someone else. She was just herself and perhaps, that happens to be one of the things that made me take interest in Netra.
Yesterday’s episode made me look at Netra in a whole different light altogether so I am just going to comment based on what I saw yesterday, not considering all of the previous opinions that I held about her.
Netra was dumb and unbearably illogical yesterday. I legit wanted to press the mute button.
Are you stressed because I caught you smiling to yourself?
WHAT? Who smiles when stressed? A psychotic person? So did Netra Desai just refer to Shashank as a psychotic person right on his face? Sigh.
I have said in one of my previous reviews that Netra’s words hold no significance to Shashank. He proved it yesterday.
Netra – I am not like other girls. I am great at studies as well as cooking.
Shashank sits, absolutey indifferent as he meekly nods – good (I am sure he wanted to say ‘yeah whatever’ but chose to be a little polite) – without even sparing a glance at her or acquiring even the slightest change in his expression.
The man just does not care!
Until
You
Dare
To
Take
His
Wife’s
Name!
The amount of patience that Shashank has always kept and keeps with Netra amuses me. Almost always. He quietly listened even when he knew that she was indirectly taunting Apurva but the words had affected him enough where he could not visibly hide that he was bothered. He listened, listened and listened until Netra crossed that line that she shouldn’t have and that’s where the man spoke up! He had to. He couldn’t not.
The scene kinda felt off due to Netra’s weird dialogues but overall, it was good, I would say.
Apurva and her Kukki gang are quite lit people together to watch. I happened to realize today why Apurva instantly bonded with this gang and why they are now her people.
Because of her poor grades in education, Apurva hasn’t been taken seriously by a lot of people. She has had to hear taunts and remarks, calling out for her awful academic results. And just she was made to feel that her opinions were not important enough to be considered. That she wasn’t good enough.
But the Kukki gang – from the very beginning – has made her feel important. They intently listen to everything that she has to say. They never make her feel like she is incapable of anything.
Even if Apurva wants to actually bring stars and the moon on the earth – the Kukki gang will be like – of course, you can, Appu. There is nothing that you can’t do. Go ahead. We all are with you.
That kind of cheering – that kind of encouragement – that vote of confidence is what made Apurva naturally feel so close to the Kukki gang like she has been a part of them for years.
She just feels and knows that – they are her people. Her people!
That assurance that they have immense faith in her and everything that she says is important to them changes a lot for a lot of people. Especially those who haven’t had that in their life before.
When Apurva came up with the vermillion plan, they did not even question if it was going to work. Solely on Apurva’s word, they carried out that plan.
But these people have their minds and perspectives as well so they told her that it was probably not going to work during the rice time but Apurva shared one reason and all that Kukki asked was – are you confident enough? That’s it then. Let’s do this.
The way Apurva loves Babi Aatya and cares about her happiness and stands firm to even fight with Babi Aatya if needed for her happiness is heartwarming to watch and the way Babi Aatya acknowledges Apurva’s love and concern, gives in and agrees to meet Bhaskar despite her willingness is equally heartwarming to watch.
Precious duo!
So Mr. Kanitkar enters home and collides with Mrs. Kanitkar? Much to his surprise, he gets not one but two hugs from his dearest wife? Shaam ban gayi inki to! xD.
That glow on Mr. Kanitkar’s face upon getting to see Mrs. Kanitkar right as he stepped into the home though! Almost made me wonder how he stayed in the office for several long hours away from her!
That shock on Mr. Kanitkar’s face when she launched herself in his arms right in the corridor though! Poor fellow! The struggle to reciprocate was so real.
Only if he could, he would have picked her up in his arms and disappeared to somewhere where he would have her whole time and attention! Only if he could!
The way Mrs. Kanitkar ends up connecting everything to Mr. Kanitkar – Mr. Kanitkar does the same. He almost thought that she was expressing her feelings for him.
Poor dude! That slight disappointment upon realizing that she was talking about Babi Aatya though! It’s okay. It’s okay, Mr. Kanitkar! Wo din bhi aayega! xD.
The intimacy talks between Apurva and Babi Aatya are going to land Mr. Kanitkar in trouble. That is given.
Brace yourself, Mr. Kanitkar! Mrs. Kanitkar is coming to you to hold some deep conversations. xD.

Wow…. really wow!!!
The way you described appu and kuki gangs relationship….had me actually thinking ofcourse this is the very reason appu connected to kuki gang so easily!! Bcz for kuki gang….it’s she who is important and they trust her no matter what!!.
That struggle to reciprocate the hug had a lot lot of significance it spoke volumes!!!
Beautiful take❣️❣️
Appu and the Kukki Gang are 💜 You know, I see them as her guardian angels. Sure, they do land her in troubles at times but I am someone for whom intentions really do matter and the only intention that the Kukki Gang has when it comes to Appu is to keep her happy.
Pure souls. 💜
Thank you for reading, Nia. 💜
