Her Prince Charming

“Sweetu, mala mahiti aahe, tuzya tya… tya friend la, tya chandrala tu fakt majhya baddal sangte! Mala mahiti ahe!”

Omkar Khanvilkar seldom needed Avni Salvi’s words to understand the tales of her heart but that didn’t mean that he didn’t long for her verbal confession.

He always read the tales of her unconditional love for him through her eyes. Her eyes always betrayed her and stayed so ridiculously loyal to him that at times, she was furiously mad at them for letting him see everything that she desperately wanted to hide.

Despite conveying that he was going to be late, she had stayed up regardless of how much time it had taken him. She had fallen asleep on the dining table, while waiting for him and had rushed to him the moment she sensed his presence.

“Kahi tari problem zala ahe!”

Nobody else had held onto his five words the way she had. While everyone else slept, she waited for him, having an inkling that he wasn’t okay and she had stayed. She had stayed with him until she made sure that he didn’t drown himself in the ocean of guilt.

Her silence had never felt so unnerving before as much as it did that night. All that she did was gaze at anything else but him, knowing that he would catch those emotions in her orbs again that she could not accept.

For the sake of their families, she had to bury her feelings in the coffin of her helpless despair.

Her prince charming was standing right in front of her, patiently waiting for her to accept the crown of his love but too bad, she knew that she wasn’t the princess who could be the queen of his heart.

While all that she wanted to do was circle her hands around him, all that she could do was force her feet to run away from him.
