Wow, I am taken aback, to say the least,
Now, you better not try to hold my wrist.
You lied to me yet another time,
And Dada has to suffer because of your crime.
Your crime of being childish and reckless,
After breaking my trust, now my silence is all that you’ll get to witness.

DK comes home and sees everyone outside and gets upset and shocked. S comes out of the institute and thinks that if he didn’t have to meet the Dean, he would have left with Appu. He worries that they don’t know what’s gonna happen or what to do and he is also unable to focus on work.Β
He calls Appu to ask what the urgent work was. 3 musketeers getting out of the auto when Appu lifts the call and says everything is fine. S says you left so quickly so I was worried there was a problem. Appu says nothing and she came to meet Atti and it was Atti’s call. Appu says she’s busy and cuts the call quickly, leaving S tensed. Amey asks Appu whose phone it was but Appu diverts the topic.
KG goes to the house to see DK back. DK is red-eyed and teary and apologizes to everyone that he is to be blamed for everything and he stole their shelter. DK continues that he’s not even worthy to be the head of this family.Β
Kukki says he’s not at fault. Amey says even if we are on the streets, we are still together. Appu tells DK not to lose his faith like this, we are all with you. Appu goes on to say that they’ve already taught a good lesson to BDK but Kukki stops her in between and Appu corrects herself that she means they will teach him a lesson, that he will never forget us. Appu tells DK not to feel guilty like this, we are all with you. VB tells Sua to get DK some chai and tells everyone to do their work.
Mai tells DK that he is not at fault for what happened and we don’t blame you. We have never wronged anyone, so it won’t happen to us, trust god. DK says I don’t have trust in myself anymore, I’ve lost my self-respect, pride, ego everything. Mai tells him to forget everything and that everyone believes that you can take us out of any problem and tells him not to lose hope.
DK says this house is already broken. Mai says he looks better when he’s yelling at everyone, not defeated like this. Mai says everyone is with him, so control yourself, and I want you to be yelling like your old self. DK yells at Mai for not bringing him chai yet and ends it by teasing her that your sister was a lot better.Β
Family sitting together and talking. Sua says we all tried to convince him a lot, I even held his feet. VB says Amey and Shashank tried to fight them, they didn’t even care about pregnant Manasi. Panna says they have no pity or sympathy.Β
Everyone informs DK of what happened. DK repeats that he is to be blamed for all of this. Kukki says we are not telling you this for an apology, in fact, we feel stronger that you are back. Mai tells DK that DA has decided not to go back to her village until this house issue is resolved. Sua explains that they sent her to BA at least for her health’s sake. DK says don’t worry, we will do something.
BDK enters with the police and tells police that this is DK who I made the deal with. Appu says good that you came and tells the police that BDK took over our house and troubled us a lot so arrest him. Police say we came to arrest DK. BDK says you tried to take over my house, and when I kicked you out, you set up residence outside here.
Police say BDK complained against you for trying to take over his house so we have to arrest you. Everyone tries to explain that this is our house and BDK stole our house instead. Police ask if BDK did all this, why didn’t any of you file a complaint then? Family is speechless. BDK says it’s because they are all liars. Police tell officers to arrest DK. Appu says you can’t arrest him like that, do you have an arrest warrant? Police says don’t try to teach me law etc and tells the constable to arrest DK
Everyone tries to stop him. VB says his only fault is to trust a wrong liar of a person, is he going to get such a big punishment for that. Appu stops the police and says if you wanna arrest DK, then arrest all of us. Appu argues with police that he should be arresting BDK instead and BDK himself said that we all live here so arrest all of us, why just DK?Β
Everyone else agrees and BDK says this isn’t a family, these are gunde, if they are talking like this with police present then just imagine how much they must have troubled a good person like me.Β
Police say they’ve seen bigger goons and take DK away while the family runs after them and tries to stop them. Appu stops them again and says how can you arrest DK like this, BDK is sick. Amey says he is mentally sick and likes to claim rights over other’s things. Appu tells police BDK is the criminal and argues with police.Β
Police warn that they will have to use force. Appu fights back and asks how can you even arrest without an arrest warrant? BDK says you are cross-questioning us after doing wrong, DK took money from me for the house. Police say if you took money from him and didn’t give it back, then that means the house is his.Β
Appu explains that they didn’t sell the house and BDK took it forcibly. VB and Kukki explain that he gave us 20 lakhs but is asking for 50 lakhs back instead. BDK says the court will decide what’s right and tells the police to arrest everyone.Β
Appu refuses to let him take DK like this. Police strictly warn them that he can arrest all of them for objecting to justice. Everyone goes to object again but DK stops them this time and says we respect the law so let’s not break it. Truth is on our side, so leave it. VB asks what if they trap you. DK says we will get justice, so be calm. DK goes with the police while Mai bawls and the family objects.Β
BDK smirks at the family before he leaves. The family runs after the car crying.
The family wonders how to get DK out. Appu asks if she can call her dad. Shashank comes then and asks what happened. The family explains what BDK did. Shashank says he will go to the police station and explain and get DK out, he reassures Mai. ShAppu go together with the police station.Β
They see DK getting ragged and yelled at in the cell by the other inmates. DK is pleading with them and apologizing. ShAppu get pissed and yell at the inmates and at the police for letting it happen. Inmates lie and say he’s our friend now and lay a hand on DK too, like patting his shoulder.Β
ShAppu promise DK to get him out ASAP. S sends Appu home after seeing her in tears with DK. S is also crying seeing DK’s state in the cell!Β
Ladies try to console Mai when Appu comes home. Mai gets hyper and asks Appu what happened and why she didn’t bring back DK. Appu tries to calm her down and says we have to arrange a lawyer and S is doing it.Β
Appu tries to tell Mai not to lose her strength and that they have to teach BDK a lesson. Sarika comes there and sees the state of the house and family and says I didn’t think Dr. A was telling the truth.Β
The family tells Sarika what all happened and them getting kicked out and DK getting arrested. Sarika says Dr.K told me when he was going to the US that there was a problem, but I didn’t think it was this big. Sarika tries to console Mai.
Tanmayi tells BB that BB’s teammates were saying that BB’s work has been flawed lately and she’s distracted and tells BB to pay attention. BB thinks what happened to you, why are you only thinking of Shashank…she thinks let me talk to him, my mood will feel better and calls S.
S trying to make the police understand. Police tell him to find a lawyer and apply for bail. S gets BB’s call then and asks her if it’s urgent. BB stammers and asks him where he is. S says that’s not your concern, tell me the work.Β
BB says nothing urgent but. S says we’ll talk later and cuts the call. BB gets upset that he cut the call, and complains that he has time for Appu but not to talk to me even over the phone and that this is not fair!Β
S helplessly leaves the police station in tears and goes to BDK. His goons try to stop him from talking to him but S yells at them. S says you kicked us out, but why did you get my uncle arrested.Β
BDK says I didn’t forcibly take over your house, you came to me. S says we came to find out info, not sell, we went back home and talked and decided not to sell, but you still came home, and gave money by force and when we gave the money, you refused. BDK says you went back on your word, I gave someone else a commitment because of your word, so this is the penalty for you all.Β
S says oh is that why you got my uncle arrested? BDK says it’s because of your wife and explains what Appu did in the office. S gets shocked. BDK says she warned me but she doesn’t know what I can do, and this is all the punishment for her mistake. S says she didn’t do right and I apologize for that. BDK says no use, actually, your wife is over-smart/arrogant, I was calm because of her mother until now, but not anymore.Β
S says she is at fault, but it’s not right to give punishment to DK because of that. BDK says it’s punishment for over-pampering her, so you will be punished for her actions, that’s why I put dung on of shame, which will last a lifetime even if you can’t see it and you will all have to bear it. Just remember, that this is punishment for what your wife did, there’s more left in store for you all!

I am not sure when Apurva will understand that lies eventually weaken relationships no matter how noble your intention is behind those lies. I donβt even remember how many times I have said this before. During the farmhouse track. Drunken act. Avantika track and now this. Sigh. I thought these two have really come a long way and now choose not to hide anything from each other because Apurva had told Shashank about Roneet and Prachi and Panna Kaku’s stance and Shashank eventually confided in her about Wada but no, these two are still where they were.Β
Shashank chose to hide the lipstick mark and Apurva, thisΒ cow dungΒ thing. No, of course, I do acknowledge that those two are very different things that cannot be compared but I am not comparing, to begin with. Itβs the choice to hide things and lying is what I am talking about here.Β
I remember saying long ago that for Shashank to defend Apurva, he has to know what his wife is up to first. You canβt expect him to side with you when you end up attacking him where it hurts the most.Β
That doesnβt mean that I feel that Apurva should do only what Shashank feels is right. Nah. Thatβs not what I am saying either. My point is just –Β donβt keep secrets, donβt tell lies, donβt hide things. Let him get mad at your choices. You do your thing nonetheless but just let him know what you are doing especially if it concerns him and your family.Β
I believe we should make our own decisions and do what feels right to us regardless of who says what. However, do that without hiding it from your people. Itβs fine if they donβt agree with it but you feel thatβs right (if at all they are right and you are wrong, you will face the consequences but thatβs fine, you chose it) but lying to them will always worsen things.Β
It becomes a struggle to trust people with anything that they say once they have introduced lies into the relationship. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you will be always haunted byΒ whether they are telling the truth or lying again.Β Itβs sheer misery that you put them through by making the choice of lying.Β
This whole track seems kind of weird with the way theyβve been handling BDK. I have the same question as that of the cops –Β if he had been troubling you for so long, if you say he snatched your house if you say he cheated you then why – then why didnβt you file a complaint?Β Thatβs a valid question.Β
I still donβt understand why Kanitkars chose to waste time in Gandhigiri and staying outside the Wada instead of at least trying to file a complaint. No, I get it that BDK is powerful and has cops on his side and stuff but because I havenβt seen Kanitkars even trying to seek help from cops or their discussion with lawyers – itβs very hard for me to say that they did everything right.Β
At least if they had filed an FIR against BDK earlier, DK wouldnβt have had to go to jail.Β
I actually appreciate DK accepting in front of Kanitkars that he has brought this storm upon them. Sure, like the family said, thinking about it now is pointless and taking guilt wonβt change anything either but itβs always good to acknowledge the reality and it is undeniable that the mess was created by DK. Of course, he had his reasons but it still remains a fact that they are on the streets because of him.Β
I struggle to blame him though because I can’t stand oblivious to the fact that his only intention was to ensure everyone’s secure life so even though I still feel that his hasty decision is the root cause of this whole trauma, it’s hard not to sympathize with him.Β
I found it quite weird that everyone waited for Shashank to come and nobody actually followed the cops and Dada-Kaka to the police station right after he was arrested.
The situation at the police station almost made me emotional.Β
What have you done? Murder? Rape?Β
Not the best thing to hear. Not the best thing to hear. The mere idea of a police station terrifies people. A lot of middle-class families like Kanitkars seldom encounter cops and police stations so for Dada-Kaka to actually stay with criminals inside the lockup is actually very hard.Β
When he could no longer take their accusations, he stood up, yelling that he has committed no crime, forgetting that those were criminals he was dealing with. They weren’t going to tolerate his high pitch and that’s what happened.Β
I actually felt bad when they got aggressive and Dada-Kaka was pleading. When Shashank caught that sight, his warning reached those men within seconds.Β
Back off. BACK OFF.Β
The way he almost rushed to the lockup and warned for yet another time –Β he is my uncle. Dare not trouble him –Β my heart went out to him. More than anger, it was Shashank’s helpless misery that his eyes couldn’t hide.Β
Put Shashank behind the bars and he might actually be calm till the situation is resolved but for him to stand the sight of Dada-Kaka behind the bars is as painful as being pricked by hundreds of thorns at a time.Β
It’s beyond him. It’sβ¦ beyond him.Β
When he sent Apurva back and stood in front of Dada-Kaka for a couple of moments, his eyes couldn’t hold back the tears.Β
Shashank Kanitkar seldom puts his vulnerability on display for anyone to see. He is of the kind to stand strong so for someone like him to actually almost break down in a public place like a police station gives away the miserable pain his heart is in.Β
When he tells Dada-Kaka that he would talk to the police officer, he darts a glare at those criminals before leaving, silently warning –Β stay away or elseβ¦Β
Shashank wasted no time. His focus stayed on solutions from the very beginning.
He left for the police station right after consoling Mai once he knew that Dada-Kaka got arrested. Upon reaching the police station, he made sure that the police officer warned those criminals to stay away from the Dada-Kaka and then once he let the officer know that Dada-Kaka was innocent, his first question wasΒ how do I get him out?Β
Now that’s how you do things. That’s the approach one has to have if one wants to solve the problem. What Apurva did certainly complicated things more than they already were. Yelling at the police officer, ‘arrest all of us’, threatening copsβ¦Β that’s emotional stuff and to reach solutions, you need to be practical most of the time if not always.Β
Am I supposed to talk about Bitter Babe?Β Jaane do.Β We’ve more important things to discuss.Β
Shashank went to confront BDK who revealed what Apurva had done. I am glad that things were clarified here.Β
When BDK claimed that he hadn’t come to Kanitkars to forcefully snatch their house but it was them who had come to him to sell the Wada – Shashank put the truth loud and clear –Β we had come just to inquire. When we went back, we decided not to sell the house but you came to our place, forcibly made us keep the money and when we came to return it, you refused to take it back.Β
Apurva broke Shashank’s trust yet another time and it was bound to hurt but the fact that she is the reason why Dada-Kaka is suffering in jail makes everything a lot worse than it would have otherwise been.Β
Something that I still don’t get is – BDK doesn’t have the papers of the house. No signatures on any papers are involved. So how is the house his? It’s Kanitkars who have the papers so doesn’t that make the house theirs? Now that is exactly why I believe if they had filed a complaint against BDK right when he kicked them out, the scenario would have been different. This kind of seems likeΒ zabarasti ka bitΒ to create separation.
You have reviewed the jail scene so beautifully. Brings out the importance that Dada has always held in Shashank’s life. The way he was pained when he saw the man whom he had regarded as the noblest man, for whose sake he had agreed to marry the girl he absolutely hated, the man for whose sake he had accepted to keep the thing as important as sale of only roof from the family ,standing behind the bars.
According to me, Shashank has been the only person to seek for solutions in this whole wada track. And what Apurva had done was impulsive, incorrect and impractical. No matter how pure her intentions were. Because the intentions never matter more than facts in practice. Because of intentions had mattered more, you people wouldn’t have been on streets today.
You have beautifully described Shashank’s actions and his thoughts and emotions.
It’s nice to have you back with your reviews…
Thank you for the kind words, Anvi. The jail scene was shot so impeccably. It was impossible to not feel for Shashank and even Dada-Kaka for that matter.
I agree. Having good intentions is great but you can’t always use it to excuse your reckless acts. It might look good to watch on screen but it doesn’t really work in real life.
Ah, thank you. It feels good to write these pieces again. Though they are still very time consuming. I am not sure for how long I can do these. Let’s see.
π
Beautiful update
Appu did wrong and she has face it. Shashank pain and hurt is this time multiple bec he is deeply in love with appu and she lied to him again and bec of her DK has to go to jail .
Yes cheatn acting is superb in emotional scene.
The sooner Apurva understands that lies eventually weaken relationships, the better.
Thank you. π
